Today, Saturday 25th October, is a special day for all the Gypsy Pistolero fans. Gone is the flamenco Mariachi sound and they bring you the dawn of a new venture: Church of the Pistoleros.
Once again working with the two Genius’s Producer extraordinaire Dave Draper and Videographer Jay Shredder.The single is available today to download and stream, and let me tell you it is an absolute banger.
Lee has gone back to his roots with the music he cut his teeth on listening to and playing back in the day.
Punk n roll I call it: hard and heavy solid rock with a punk edge.
The single begins with their version of The Lord’s Prayer, or should that be Lee’s prayer. A church organ playing in the background, then there is no holding back: blistering riffage from Shane, powerful and thunderous drumming and bass playing from the rhythm section of Chris and Kerry, and then there is Lee who has never sounded better roaring and screaming out the lyrics.
The anthemic chorus sounding out the message “Welcome to the Church of the Pistoleros, and come and take my hand you beautiful Weirdos”.
This has the potential to get in the mainstream charts, it has the old school vibe with a modern twist.

I was lucky enough to be at the single launch in Birmingham last night, (review to follow soon), and the reaction from the crowd to the new music was brilliant. I have also heard a special preview of the new album and all I can say is, you are in for a treat.
The Church of the Pistoleros is all about the people who are just that bit different and go beyond the norm, the non-conformers, the ones who won’t listen to all the political BS from the politicians and despots, the special ones.
The belief that the only true religion that matters is Rock n Roll.
