Review By Glen Parkes

Just in time to add some fire to winter playlists, Torquay trio Pylon Poets are set to release their new single, “Human Touch,” on December 6, 2024. Known for their anthemic choruses and a sound that’s both familiar and fresh, Pylon Poets expertly blend nostalgic ’80s synth rock with a modern edge. Their sound evokes a mix of Depeche Mode’s atmospheric depth, Placebo’s haunting allure, and the alt-rock punch of The Killers and Muse—a potent combination that feels tailor-made for the arena.

“Human Touch” adds a captivating new chapter to their musical journey, combining lush synthesizers with an expansive rock sound that’s both sophisticated and endlessly catchy. Frontman Dan Hughes vocals bring an emotional gravitas, while Nathan Hughes Bass / Backing Vocals and Sam McIver drums layer in a sonic depth that builds the track’s momentum. The result is a track that captures the human longing for connection with precision and depth.

Self-released under the guidance of Forge AMP Management, Pylon Poets are quickly carving out a space for themselves in the alt-rock scene. “Human Touch” is yet another demonstration of their ability to craft unforgettable, synth-based anthems. If this track is any indication, their upcoming debut album promises to be a landmark release—one that could solidify Pylon Poets as one of the most exciting acts to emerge in the UK’s rock landscape.
