Review By Dave Martin
‘Turn The Tide’ is the second single from the Star Circus’ forthcoming second album which is due in early 2025. It’s a powerful anthem with a message of optimism and unity, resonating with current global conversations about climate change, political conflict, social justice, and mental health. Accompanied by a music video filmed by videographer Dean Addison, depicting the story of several of the band members washed up on shore in cages and being freed by Winkler as he finds them.
The band cites various musical influences which include Bon Jovi, Thunder and Thin Lizzy. The London based quartet of Dave Winkler (lead vocals, acoustic, lead & rhythm guitars), Sophie Aurelia Young ( bass guitar & backing vocals), Reuben O’Donoghue(drums & percussion) and William Robertson (keyboards, guitars & backing vocals) are joined on this endeavour by Santiago Periotti who provides addition lead and slide guitar.
The track opens with slide guitar from guest Periotti before being joined by soft vocals from Winkler before launching passionately into the catchy chorus. The song is interspersed with free flowing guitar improvisations which adds to the appeal of the track.
The band are playing the Hardrock Hell festival on the 7th November as they last advertised gig of this calendar year.
