Review By Darren McIntyre
Lorenzo Hazelwood is the charismatic frontman of Auckland rockers Silcrow who is also an accomplished solo artist that has been getting noticed for his mesmerising vocals, haunting harmonies that has allowed him to bring us 2022’s Vol 3. Since that release Lorenzo has been touring with his band Silcrow playing live shows in New Zealand, London, released a 7 track EP opened for Shepherd’s Reign & Auckland’s Tuning Fork, with some down time Lorenzo has found time to bring us his follow up Liminal Spaces and from that comes the haunting ballad Bleed You Of Me which I will be reviewing for you today.
Bleed You Of Me – Dark brooding acoustic guitar oozes from the intro as Lorenzo’s haunting vocals let this track break free and bring us a moving arrangement that just catches your attention. The bass kicks are letting the track breathe as we feel the emotion pouring from this fantastic musician as the bassline wraps itself around the whole composition as it lets us feel the depth and soul coming from this awesome track, the journey is building as the tempo changes pace and brings in a cool snare drum beat that takes the track in another direction. The killer acoustic tones are melting all through this soulful, haunting piece that just elevates the soaring vocals of this incredible frontman as he shows us just what he is made of, the story itself just grabs your attention and really transports us to somewhere new as the lyrics just drill into your soul and let us feel the depth of this colossal track.
