Review By Darren McIntyre
Juliet’s Not Dead(formerly Twister) are a 4 piece rock n roll juggernaut hailing from Durham, Newcastle, England who have risen from the ashes of Twister to bring us a colossal new album, This World Is Ours due for release 7th Feb 2025, new sound with a heavier new direction that will see them deliver not only tracks from their back catalogue but a new direction from Juliet’s Not Dead. The boys are getting ready to hit the road in readiness for this blistering new album and to wet our whistles they are giving us a new track King & Queen which I will be reviewing for you today.
King & Queen – A rousing guitar riff erupts from the off as this heavy ended rock n roll bruiser gets underway with a real solid pounding snare drum beat that really grabs our attention. The cool dark bassline is wrapping itself around this growling monster as the boys just kick in the doors and hit us with everything they have as this foot stomping arrangement really grabs our attention. The cool melodic vocals are flowing effortlessly through the track as a soaring rhythm section bring a deep pounding groove that has real depth and is commanding the room with it’s killer tones, the heavier sound is oozing from each member as they leave their mark on this blistering track that is just building and building as the boys hit their stride and really deliver with ease. The whole piece is a real shift from the norm as the boys have dug deep to really let us feel the awesome change in tempo, with sizzling guitar licks that are leading the charge.
