Review By Darren McIntyre
Tiberius are a powering, anthemic 5 – piece rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland who burst onto the scene nearly 10 years ago and brought us 2 EP’s in the form of 2015’s self titled EP & 2017’s The Beautiful Ones. 2020 sees the arrival of their debut album A Peaceful Annihilation which has opened many doors to the boys with shows across Europe & the UK, Festival slots and opening for the likes of The Contortionist, Twelve Foot Ninja, Galactic Empire & many more. The boys have mapped out the next chapter in their journey with the release of their sophomore album Singing For Company and from that comes the the blistering new track Tip Of The Spear which I will be reviewing for you today.
Tip Of The Spear – Opening with a thundering rhythm section comes a pounding double bass kick that erupts into a snare drum beat that allows this beast to rear it’s head as the track bursts into life. The soaring vocals are delivering harmonious tones as the guitar shredding riffs wander freely through this fist pumping monster as the boys wrap their musicality around this powering beast of a track, the tempo changes pace for a little as mellow piano keys fill the air and the whole arrangement just catches your attention as the boys deliver a soulful melodic number that just gives us a sense of depth, attitude and melodiy. The almost symphonic, anthemic tune is letting us stamp our feet and punch the air as the tempo yust comes alive and really lets the boys do their thing, a catchy melodic number that just builds and builds as the boys capture the essence of this well written, well balanced number that instantly grows on you.
