Review By Darren McIntyre
Hurricane 66 are a classic rock 4 piece from Northern Ireland who originally formed in 2023 and earlier this year dropped their debut single Holy Ghost. The band have been creating a reputation for being a superb live act that captivates their audiences with their raw energy and authentic sound, the band have played iconic venues like The Limelight, The Empire & The Pavilion. Today they bring us their infectious new rocking single Hot Summer which I will be reviewing for you today.
Hot Summer – A raw rocking gritty guitar riff pours from the intro as a punchy snare drum beat lets the rhythm section bring the groove to this fott stomping rock n roll beast. The soaring melodic vocals really let the track breathe as the bassline drops in with a meaty funk groove that just lifts the track to another level, the whole arrangement has an AC/DC groove about it that has us getting the horns up as the cool beat wanders freely through the mid section as a sweet, clean solo makes itself known to us as the rest of the band lean in with a cool thundering beat that just lets the track tell it’s own story. The cool soulful vocals are flowing effortlessly through the track and give it a nice tone that just lets us know that Hurricane 66 may just be ones to watch.
