With influences from power metal titans like Stratovarius, Thunderstone, and Firewind, this album is a must-listen for fans of soaring melodies, electrifying guitar work, and emotionally charged performances. Recorded under the guidance of renowned producer Fotis Benardo (Nightfall, Rotting Christ) and mastered by George Nerantzis (Pain of Salvation, Dark Funeral), Son of the Sun is a testament to the band’s dedication, passion, and artistry.

From its inception in 2016 to its completion during the challenges of the pandemic, Son of the Sun is a labor of love and perseverance. Keyboardist Panos Anastopoulos reflects, “This album means so much to me…a piece of our soul we’re thrilled to share with you.” Guitarist Makis Kaponis echoes these sentiments, sharing the struggles and triumphs of recording through uncertain times, particularly the emotional acoustic track, Secret of Silence.

The album’s nine tracks take listeners on a dynamic journey through themes of resilience, introspection, and hope. Son of Fire: A blazing opener that sets the tone with powerful riffs and commanding vocals. Thoughts of Despair (Apognosis): An emotionally charged track blending heavy rhythms with haunting melodies. Forever Lost: A standout song with a compelling lyric video that showcases the band’s knack for crafting poignant power ballads. Mystery: A driving anthem full of layered harmonies and intricate keyboard work. Secret of Silence: A heartfelt acoustic piece that offers a moment of introspection amid the album’s intensity. Echoes: A mid-tempo track featuring ethereal soundscapes and soaring vocal lines. Can’t Let You Go: A powerful love song with an irresistible chorus that lingers in your mind. Bridge of Life: A dynamic, progressive composition symbolizing connection and growth. Sunrise: A triumphant closer filled with uplifting melodies and a sense of renewal.

The album’s production is a highlight, with Fotis Benardo’s expertise bringing out the full depth of Sunlight’s sound. The mix balances the intricate interplay of guitars, keyboards, and vocals with the thunderous rhythm section. The stunning cover art by Gustavo Sazes (Epica, Firewind) and a revamped logo by Shane Rice herald a new era for the band.
