Review By Darren McIntyre
Thundermother are a 4 piece rock n roll juggernaut from Sweden who originally formed in 2010 and brought us Rock n Roll Disaster in 2014, Road Fever in 2015, Thundermother in 2018, Heatwave in 2020, Black & Gold in 2022 & on the 7th February they frop their blistering new album Dirty & Divine on us. To wet our appetites they bring us Bright Eyes which is the follow up to So Close which I brought you last month, please strap yourself in as I walk us through this fantastic new offering.
Bright Eyes – We kick off with a cool smouldering vocal intro as the pounding rhythm section leans in and hits us with a solid snare drum beat that really lets this fist pumping bruiser make itself known to us. The killer vocals are bringing us a raspy, soulful tone that gets the track bubbling as a funky, delicious bassline frops in and hits us with a solid funk groove that works so well with the sizzling guitar work that is wrapping itself around this foot stomping rock n roll arrangement. A slick, clean guitar solo erupts and really gives this track depth, swagger and bags of attitude as the girls hit us from all sides with their signature melodies that we have come to know and appreciate, the track is a real fist pumping proper bruising track that gets the juices flowing and wets our whistles for the upcoming new album.
