Review By Darren McIntyre

Around 7 are a 3-piece alternative rock band from Forfar, Scotland who have been skating the lines between 90’s West Coast Punk & Alternative Alt rock scene since their high school days. The boys released This Ain’t Your Sonndtrack in 2023 which gave them a platform to increase their visiability across the pop-punk scene in the UK, the boys are set to release their EP A Tale Of Martyrs & Heathens soon and to wet our appetites they drop lead single Anything From You which I will be reviewing for you today.

Anything From You – A crisp, clean guitar riff explodes from the off as this foot stomping rock n roll bruiser comes to life with a cool punchy grunge like feel that just sets the tone as we stroll through the intro. The cool bassline is dropping heavy, deep funking tones that wrap themselves around this crunching pop-punk beast that is building and building as the boys hit the ground running, the rhythm section is hitting us with real solid snare drum punches that work well through the arrangement as cymbal snaps control the groove as the sizzling guitar licks kick in the doors and punch us straight in the face. This is a real nice anthemic number that is well crafted and has real body as we feel the energy oozing through the whole arrangement as the boys lay down their marker to take them onwards.
