Review By Darren McIntyre
Chris Helms is the fearless leader of Hamburg based operatic metal band Lord Of The Lost who have been rocking the world with their infectious brand of soaring operatic music, when Chris is not touring the world with his band he can often be found in the studio laying down some solo material. Chris is about to unleash his new album 1980 and from that comes the 3rd single She Called Me Diaval which I will be reviewing for you today so please settle in as we prepare ourselves for a dose of 1980’s hair metal with a twist.
She Called Me Diaval – A cool toe tapping 80’s groove with killer synth tones and dark bass notes greets us as the smouldering vocals bring this track to our attention as we get ready to rock. The cool keys are really giving this track depth as the fist pumping groove builds and builds as Chris settles in and really makes this track his own, the cool bassline is dropping funky, full on grooves that just wrap themselves around this soaring anthem that just brings the attitude and then some. The killer synth tones are the star of the show as they navigate us through the toe tapping beat as the rhythm section comes at us with a cool punchy snare drum kick that just lets the groove flow and take us to another place.
