Swedish melodic rockers Captain Black Beard release new single ‘When It’s Over’

Ahead of their upcoming album release, Captain Black Beard has unveiled their new single accompanied by a music video. With a refreshed lineup, the band continues to excel in their self-titled ‘disco AOR’ genre, and this latest single remains consistent with their previous work, appealing to long-time fans.

The track features robust drumming that sets the stage for a rich blend of distorted guitars and keyboards, complemented by catchy vocals and harmonies. Notably, a short yet skilfully executed saxophone solo appears at the end of the first chorus. The middle eight section lowers the tempo, creating a contrast before transitioning into a keyboard solo, followed by a harmonized guitar segment leading into the main guitar solo. True to AOR style, the arrangement includes dynamic shifts to maintain energy, culminating in another saxophone solo.

The band delivers a commendable performance; the riff is compelling and supported by an intricate bass line. Both the lead instrumentation and vocal execution are exemplary as is the production. This single should achieve significant success on the charts.
