XIII Doors emerged from the vision of singer and multi-instrumentalist DJ O’Sullivan. Hailing from the west of Ireland, DJ conceived XIII Doors with a clear purpose: to ignite inspiration in others and encourage them to pursue their dreams.

The musical essence of the band draws from a diverse range of influences, blending the sounds of Alter Bridge, Alice in Chains, Daughtry, and Tremonti, among others. This fusion of hard rock and heavy metal is further enriched by flavours of world music, particularly (but not limited to) Irish, Arabic, and Hindustani traditions.
DJ – Vocals/ Guitar
Flash Murphy – Vocals/Guitar
Pat “Pablo”Byrne – Bass Guitar/Vocals
Cian “Whoasley” O’Sullivan – Drums
Blending hard-hitting riffs and memorable choruses, XIII Doors stands on the verge of delivering an experience that is both evocative and transformative. Their story is just beginning, and XIII Doors is ready to carve their name into the annals of music history.
The song opens with a gentle guitar intro that immediately sets an inviting tone, drawing you in with its smooth, flowing melody. This melodic quality is carried throughout the track with a rhythmic drum beat and the guitars acting as a guide, seamlessly weaving through the verses and chorus. The feel of the song creates a laidback atmosphere, making it a track that is easy to get lost in.
The vocals complement the instrumental melody beautifully, with a rich tonal delivery that enhances the song’s emotional depth. Together, the blend of lead vocals and harmonies creates a captivating and memorable sound, contributing to the song’s undeniable appeal.
As the track progresses, the interplay between the vocals and the music remains engaging, ensuring that the song never loses its charm. The balance of melody in both the music and singing makes it a well-rounded composition that lingers in my head long after it’s finished, which is always a good sign.
DJ, said “Personally, I feel this song holds the deepest meaning for me, both lyrically and musically, across the entire album. For the guitar solo, I had the privilege of borrowing a Gibson Les Paul from the brother of my late guitar teacher (who has since also sadly passed away). Recording with that guitar felt like a full-circle moment – creating music meant to inspire others with an instrument that belonged to someone who inspired me so much during my teenage years. It really is something that I’m happy we got to do when recording.
Lyrically, the song is a reflection on life’s journey, seen through the eyes of someone who hasn’t always had an easy path, but has made changes for the better. It’s about recognising that even during tough times, progress is being made. Only when you look back can you truly appreciate how far you’ve come. It’s a reminder to be proud of who you are and to embrace the journey you’re on.”
See How You’ve Come So Far” is the band’s fourth single and arguably their most accessible track to date. Compared to the band’s earlier releases, this track leans more towards hard rock than metal, offering a sound that’s as introspective as it is impactful.
