Review By Darren McIntyre

Ricky Warwick is a musician / singer / songwriter from Newtonards, County Down, Northern Ireland who began his journey in the music business in 1988. Ricky is best known for his time in Thin Lizzy but has fronted and formed some of the best known rock n roll bands to this day, he formed Black Star Riders, fronted Scottish rockers The Almighty and has his own solo band The Fighting Hearts. Ricky has given us 13 solo albums including his new album Blood Ties slated for release March 14th, 14 albums with The Almighty, 1 with Stiff Little Fingers, 1 with Circus Diablo and 5 with Black Star Riders. Today Ricky drops his new single The Crickets Stayed In Clovis which I will be reviewing for you today.

The Crickets Stayed In Clovis – From the off we get classic Thin Lizzy riffs that just catch your attention from the get go as Ricky unleashes his gritty, gravelly vocals that just set this track alight. The funking bassline is wrapping itself around this foot stomping rock n roll juggernaut as we feel the attitude roll through this classic number, the rhythm section is commanding the room as we get a punchy snare drum kick that welcomes a cool bass kick that is finished with solid cymbal crashes that get this bad boy on the move. We get the gritty riffs and real rocking grooves that make this a real catchy rock n roll groover that just builds and builds as we feel the energy pouring from this charismatic frontman as he gives us a sure fire hit that will have us reaching for the repeat button for sure.
