Review By Darren McIntyre
Avery Friedman is a young singer / songwriter born & raised in Cleveland, Ohio but in 2019 relocated to Brooklyn, New York however music wasn’t the plan for her. The spring of 2023 was a tipping-point combination of inspiration & unexpected events that pushed her to begin writing her own songs in private, she first performed for someone other than herself at a post – show campfire back in Ohio in April 2023. Avery drops her enchanting new single Flowers Fell which I will be reviewing for you today.
Flowers Fell – The track begins with a deep, dark bass kick that lets a sweet melodic guitar pick wander freely through the intro as Avery leans in with her soulful vocals. The rhythm section comes through with a solid snare drum beat that works well with the bassline that drops mellow grooves that allow the track to open and flow, the grungy style guitar riffs are giving the track some body as we feel the emotion oozing from the thought provoking lyrics as they navigate through this power – pop inspired track that just showcases the incredible vocals from Avery as she builds in confidence to really let us feel the warmth coming from the band as they gel together and give us a dar, delicious groove that just pops as the song wanders effortlessly through and really lets us feel the rawness from this exciting young musician.
