Review By Darren McIntyre
The Night Flight Orchestra are a rock band from Helsingborg, Sweden who were formed in 2007, the concept came about when Bjorn & David were touring around the globe. The boys gathered up members from bands Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggers & Von Benzo, the road has been tinged with a bit of sadness as founding member David Andersson passed away aged just 47. The band decided to press on and make music that would make David smile, the band have given us 7 studio albums which includes their new offering Give Us The Moon, from that comes the uplifting new single Paloma which I will be reviewing for you today.
Paloma – An 80’s style synth intro oozes through the intro as a pumping bass kick lets the rhythm section bring the groove to this infectious toe tapping spangly rocker track. The powering vocals are flowing effortlessly through the track as we feel the energy pulsing from this cool rock n roll monster, we get a sweet crisp guitar salvo as the twin assault brings the heat to this classy 80’s rocker. The deep oozing bassline drops epic funk grooves that run through the mid section of this awesome arrangement. The synth keys are the main stay in this classic retro track as the band come together and really bring their musicality that just sizzles as the energy oozes from each musician as they give us a fast, furious, groove laden track that is bursting with depth, attitude and really brings a smile to your face.
