Single – Healing is Coming
Release Date 2nd April 25
Review by Linda McDermott
Levi Robin’s music has always felt like it comes from a place way deeper than just chords and lyrics, it’s more like he’s letting you in on the pages of his journal, scribbled on the road somewhere.
Originally from Orange County, California, Levi’s story is about how he wasn’t feeling the school system and the whole “follow this path and don’t ask questions” routine. So, he left with guitar in hand, with no real plan, just a need to find something real and that he could connect with. But no matter where he went, songwriting was always his way of figuring life out, which turns out to be a great thing for him.
Musically, he pulls inspiration from all over the place, Bach, Hendrix, Dylan, Radiohead, D’Angelo, and somehow blends it into something that doesn’t really sit in any one genre but still hits you in the heart. His vocals carry this rawness that makes it feel like he’s singing straight to something, maybe himself, or maybe to his fans.
He first started getting some attention back in 2014 with his debut EP and a tour with Matisyahu, (who I’ve not heard of until now) which helped get his name out there. Over time, he dropped more singles and projects that have pulled in listeners all around the world, and with over a million streams, that’s not bad for a guy just doing his thing.
And that brings us to his latest track, “Healing Is Coming.” He describes it as a song about facing the hard stuff, walking through the dark to find your own light, and doing it all with a kind of brave surrender.
If you’re into music that actually means something, that doesn’t just float by but sits with you and repeats in your head then Levi Robin is definitely worth a listen.
With “Healing Is Coming,” Levi Robin taps into that space between pain and peace, that raw, uncomfortable middle ground where you’re not quite healed, but you’re no longer numb either. The track doesn’t rush. It unfolds patiently, like it’s giving you permission to feel whatever you’ve been avoiding.
Musically, it’s minimal but deeply intentional. You’ve got this gentle acoustic foundation, subtly floating in the background, and Levi’s voice right up front, fragile, but full of quiet strength. There’s a kind of stillness in how he delivers each word, like he’s been through the fire and isn’t afraid to sing about it.
Lyrically, it’s not preaching or pretending to have all the answers. It’s more of a personal reminder: healing isn’t some lightning bolt moment, it’s messy, it’s slow, and it needs courage. The line about looking “the serpent in the eyes” feels like it’s that idea of facing your own demons, not with bravado, but with honesty.
There’s no big drop or explosive ending here, just a steady build of emotion and this sense that something deep inside is starting to shift.
If you’ve ever needed a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, and that there’s something on the other side of all of it, this song might be exactly what you need.
