I first spoke to GracieMay about music a few years ago, not long after she had first picked up a guitar and had decided to teach herself how to play. Her second self-penned single is ‘Star-Crossed’, a song where the artist both sings and plays the guitar and for me it shows that GracieMay is the real deal, with a song that displays a lyrical sense of maturity that is usually far beyond most musicians of both this age and life experience.

The song is modern classic Rock/Pop that has been beautifully produced and performed across the board, and it is a haunting yet immediate piece of work that truly crosses genres and should appeal to most listeners regardless of their musical stylings of choice. GracieMay has a much deeper and soulful voice than you would expect from a young artist, and while for me she is totally unique if you really had to push me I’d say the closest singer/songwriter I could compare her to is a young Tanita Tikaram back in the days of ‘Twist In My Sobriety’. If your looking to get onboard with a new artist that is performing and playing truly original music you can’t go wrong with GracieMay, an artist with a really bright future who’s songs deserve to be heard by the widest possible audience. Both myself and the staff at Jace Media Music look forward to hearing more songs from a very talented singer/songwriter. Highly recommended.
