Review by Linda McDermott
Dead Demons are an original four-piece heavy Rock/Metal band from South Yorkshire, who formed in late 2019. They have worked hard since forming and have gained a loyal fan base up and down the country. Because of that hard work they have played at a variety of venues and festivals across the UK supporting many amazing bands including Fury, Wolfsbane, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Wayward Sons, Apriori, Takeaway Thieves and Olivers Army featuring Graham Oliver from Saxon, to name only a few. They have played Bradstock 2023 and were semi finalists in the Metal 2 the Masses in Sheffield 2022 and Nottingham finalists for Bloodstock 2023.
Last year saw them hit the ground running, playing at the Upstaged Trailblazer event and winning a place to play Call of The Wild Festival in Lincoln. 2024 also saw a change of singer to Paul Lowson and saw them playing at SOS Fest, Mountains of Metal, SavFest and Rockmantic.

Dead Demons are
Paul Lowson – Vocals
Chris Weatherall – Guitar
Pete Harriman – Bass Guitar
Jonny Booth – Drums
So, what about this single? This track delivers a powerful mix of energy, emotion, and motivation. It’s all about breaking free from whatever’s holding you back, finding your fire again, and pushing forward, even when the odds aren’t in your favour. From start to finish, it carries a sense of defiance and purpose.
The lyrics paint a clear picture of someone rising up from a tough place, refusing to stay down. There’s frustration, moments where “your world, it stops spinning,” but that feeling is met head-on with determination. The repeated call to “relight the fuse, there’s nothing to lose” becomes a mantra for resilience, especially when it feels like you’re starting over from scratch.
Musically, it builds up with a relaxed guitar before Paul’s vocals come in, then it breaks loose with great riffs, bass and thumping drums that drive it forward. It belts out its message with a punchy delivery making it feel built for live performances. This isn’t a song that dwells in defeat, it’s one that tells you to get up and go again. If you’re stuck, doubting yourself, or just need a reminder that there’s more in the tank, this is that spark.
Dead Demons have plans to release an EP later in the year so watch out for that. Follow their socials for news on gigs and catch them at the Novacaine Festival in Sheffield on the 4th of October.
