Earl of Hell. A band hailing from Edinburgh. A five piece no nonsense band whose roots hail back to classic bands like Black Sabbath, Alice in chains and one or two songs I have had the pleasure of listening to on this cracking album, reminding me of the band Tool. From a warm and engaging band off stage to an energic band on stage. Seeing them live you will be treated to a fun in your face night out.

All the markings of a great band you should hear both on live on stage and this new album.

A five-piece group, in case you have not had the pleasure of connecting with, consisting of Eric Brock on main Vocal duties, Lewis Inglis who is guitar and backing vocals, Dan Mitchell also guitar, Dean Godon on bass and Ryan Wilson who is on drums.

This album debut, being a follow up to their 2022 EP called Get Smoked, delivers everything you want from raw punk to stoner rock roots. A juggernaut of layers of sounds gives your senses a great work out. Gritty in all the right places, crunchy guitars layered with solid thumping drums, with an all in your face energy from the punk rock vibes to pure Glam Rock. A great listening pleasure awaits you as you go from track to

track. You really don’t want this album to end after nine solid tracks. A different direction from the 2022 Get Smoked EP.

Starting from Track One, Satan is Real. You can imagine a group of worshipers chanting along around an open campfire with night life buzzing around. An interesting short start to this album.

Track Two, Infernal Dream. Crunchy riffs and a beauty vocal delivery. Catchy chorus. Brings you in nice and gently. Backing vocals are nice and blends in with the main vocals. Guitar solo is fantastic. Gets faster as the song progresses.

Track Three, Impaler. A heavy beast. In your face straight away. Reminds me of early Iron Maiden. One of my favourites and should please many.

Track Four, Brave New Age. The first real Black Sabbeth influenced song. Guitars have a nice sounding melody catchy riff. Erics vocals sound nice and blend in and out with the music. A real journey of slow and fast catchy riffs and solos.

Track Five, Calling, Is the Crow. One is the songs that has been a standout Live track on the tour. Guitars start with a real nice simple play. A simple tune until the drums kicks in then it is turned straight up. In my mind an gem of an Alice in Chains sounding tune. A fan favourite live.

Track Six, My Twisted Mind. The odd one of this album. Starts strange, in an interesting way. Then gets you up on your feet. A fast paced one.

Track Seven, Macabra Cadabra. Now this is my favourite one. Slow thumping drums. Then the Woo’s kick in. A complex drum beat. Fast paced guitars deliver. Really reminds me of Black Sabbaths Zero the Hero, the way the vocals are delivered. One I will always go back to first.

Track Eight, Waiting to Die. One of the types of songs where you are not really sure where its going. The intro is a song that lures you down a path of intrigue. Then kicks in with a nice groove and beat. Lovely slide guitars and smooth vocals.

Track Nine, Bloodlines. Last one I’m afraid. Has a Westen style before a Tool like sound. Builds up lovely. Feels like a last song that knows the end needs to end on a high.

A real beautiful end to a well-paced well written album. Really enjoyed my time with this album. Shame they had to go now…. And you will know now, what a fantastic group they are. Here’s to the next album.
