Review By Glen Parkes
The South Wales powerhouses Häxan have done it again. With their new EP Death of Me (out 23 May 2025), the trio slam the pedal through the floor and rocket straight into a bigger, bolder chapter of their career. If White Noise was their arrival, Death of Me is their full-throttle takeover.
Opening with the title track “Death of Me,” Häxan waste no time—Sam Bolderson’s vocals tear through the speakers like a shot of adrenaline, backed by Harriet Wadeson’s thunderous bass and Jess Hartley’s pummeling drum attack. It’s raw, it’s razor-sharp, and it sets the tone for an EP that refuses to back down.
“Sirens” crashes in next, a riff-driven juggernaut dripping with attitude. It’s an anthem for the defiant, with a chorus built to echo off festival fields and arena walls.
The highlight? “Thirteenth Hour,” a single that already feels like a future signature song for Häxan. Here, the band blend moody tension and soaring release in a masterclass of dynamics. “Dark, dynamic, and utterly electrifying – ‘Thirteenth Hour’ proves Häxan are not just contenders; they’re champions.” – Jace Media Music
“Burn Alive” roars in next, bringing a visceral, white-hot energy that feels almost dangerous. It’s a track made to leave scorch marks on any stage it touches.
Closing out the EP, “Collide” crashes with emotional intensity, tying the whole journey together with a perfect balance of melody and muscle. It’s the kind of closer that doesn’t just end a record—it demands a replay.
Across Death of Me, Häxan show stunning growth—leaner, meaner, and hungrier than ever. They’ve sharpened their songwriting, dialed up the intensity, and expanded their sonic arsenal without losing the heart-pounding, fist-raising spirit that made them so beloved in the first place.
“Big riffs. Bigger vocals. The biggest energy. Häxan have just levelled up—and the future’s on fire.” Jace Media Music
verdict: Death of Me isn’t just a comeback—it’s a coronation. Häxan are here, and they’re ready to burn brighter than ever.
