Single – Bring the Fire
Release Date – 9th May 25
Review by Linda McDermott
Founded in Cambridgeshire by bassist and lead singer Dan Hunsdon, For the Forsaken are a hard rock foursome with an emotional story to tell through their music and lyrics and this single is confirmation that they do it well.
The band are quickly becoming a serious force in the heavy rock world. With their fifth single ‘Bring the Fire,’ the band continue to climb, building momentum through a sound driven by emotion, grit, and an unrelenting energy.

They are-
Dan Hunsdon – Vocals/Bass
Jack Hunsdon – Guitar/Vocals
Stu Isteed – Guitar
Chev (Adam Cheverton) – Drums
Dan’s raw, gritty vocals take centre stage, backed by a mix of grungy riffs and pounding rhythms that hit hard without losing clarity. There are shades of Black Stone Cherry and Alter Bridge, but For the Forsaken aren’t riding anyone’s coattails. They’re quickly carving out a space that’s entirely their own.
Lyrically, the song dives deep, continuing the band’s tradition of transforming personal pain into something powerful. As Dan explains, “It’s about taking back control of your heart and emotions from someone who abused them.” It’s a message of empowerment, delivered with weight and conviction. The band’s strength lies in their ability to channel raw experiences into something honest, cathartic, and deeply relatable.
From the first second, this track hits hard. A wall of guitars and pounding drums sets a relentless pace. The vocals are a standout, gravelly, emotional, and full of intent. There’s real weight behind every word, pulling you straight into the heart of the song. The theme of taking back control is compelling, and when Dan takes breath, the music seems to surge forward, picking up the story without missing a beat. The riffs don’t just fill the space, they elevate the narrative, adding drama and tension. It’s one of those tracks that grips you from start to finish. I can already picture the energy it’ll unleash live.
For the Forsaken are firing on all cylinders. If this track is anything to go by, the upcoming album could be something special. This is a band finding their voice and turning up the volume.
The band have released an accompanying video to support ‘Bring the Fire’ via their You Tube Channel which has been created by band member Stu Isteed, and you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=422dbT8mOTA,.
