Single – Somehow
Release Date – 30th May 2025
Review by Linda McDermott
Jake T White isn’t your average newcomer. A guitarist, singer, and songwriter with over a decade of experience already under his belt, Jake started carving out his place in the UK rock scene at just 11 years old. That’s when he joined the band Teachers Pet Rock Show UK, a group he’d go on to lead as Musical Director before his departure in 2024. Now stepping out on his own, Jake is gearing up to release his debut solo EP, a five-track effort set to drop this year.
Drawing clear inspiration from heavyweights like Slash, AC/DC, and Mammoth WVH, Jake’s sound channels classic rock energy with a modern edge as in his earlier releases ‘Lose My Mind’ and ‘I Was Right.’ But there’s more to his work than loud guitar riff and blazing solos, there’s also a sense of precision and purpose that reflects his years on stage and in rehearsal rooms. With the EP’s release just around the corner, Jake is clearly aiming to make a statement: this is who he is, and he’s not here to play it safe. Whether you’re a die-hard rock fan or just someone with a taste for well-crafted guitar music, Jake is one to watch out for.

The new single, ‘Somehow” eases in with a gentle guitar line, setting a mellow, reflective tone that draws the listener in straight away. Jake’s vocals enter with a slight echo, adding another layer as he lays out the emotional groundwork of the track. It’s a song that feels like a quiet moment of clarity and reflection.
The chorus lifts the mood with smooth, layered harmonies that swirl around the central question: “Where do I go now?” It’s a simple line, but one that captures the uncertainty and quiet hope that follows the end of heartbreak. The transition from verse to chorus is effortless, giving the song a natural flow that’s both soothing and sincere.
Jake describes “Somehow” as a song about redemption and the emotional process of moving on, and that honesty comes through in every line. There’s no real wallowing here, just a clear-eyed look at what comes next when the dust has finally settled.
Laid-back and easy on the ear, this is a tune that’ll resonate widely. Whether you’ve just been through a breakup or you’re simply in the mood for something thoughtful and tuneful, “Somehow” makes for a quietly compelling listen.
The song is released on the 30th May so make sure you have a note of that.
