Sun-Kissed Heartbreak – Robin Red Revives the Emotion with “Don’t Leave Me (Summer Version)”

Review By Glen Parkes

Swedish vocalist Robin Red, best known as the powerhouse frontman of Degreed, delivers a fresh burst of emotion with his new single “Don’t Leave Me (Summer Version)”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. A reimagining of his 2021 solo debut “Don’t Leave Me (With A Broken Heart)”, this new rendition brings a softer, more sun-soaked vibe to the original’s aching intensity—trading heartbreak for bittersweet nostalgia under blue skies.

Robin’s emotive vocal delivery is as magnetic as ever. His signature tone—rich, expressive, and unafraid to wear its heart on its sleeve—shines through the warm, breezy production. Accompanied by a stellar lineup of musicians including Dave Dalone (guitars/synths), Mats Eriksson (drums), and Jona Tee (organ), the track effortlessly blends melodic rock with lush summer textures. The addition of grand piano by Joan Eriksson and layered backing vocals from Petra Eriksson add emotional depth without weighing the song down.

The result is a track that feels timeless yet seasonally vibrant—like a lost love letter written on the back of a Polaroid. It’s reflective but hopeful, melancholy but easy on the ears. Perfect for those late summer drives or golden hour moments.

“Don’t Leave Me (Summer Version)” is the first of three unreleased songs set to be unveiled this summer as Robin celebrates his debut live performances. If this track is any indication, fans can expect more heartfelt, melody-driven anthems in the coming months.

Whether you’re a long-time Degreed fan or new to Robin Red’s solo work, this release proves he’s more than just a rock vocalist—he’s a storyteller with soul.
