Review By Darren McIntyre
Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast are an Americana Roots rock outfit currently residing in Ashville, North Carolina but was born in Detroit and raised in New York City. Caitlin and the boys have been influenced by the sounds of East Coast rock n roll, Motown & roots music, the band have been lucky enough to share the stage with acts such as Mavis Staples, Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, The Avett Brothers & Greta Van & Robert Jon & The Wreck. The band brought out EP Blueprints to rave reviews and have continued to build their impressive rise to the top and today the drop their epic new single Heart Of Gold which I will be reviewing for you today.
Heart Of Gold – A real gutsy, gritty guitar lick opens the track as Caitlin leans in with her colossal blues soaked vocals that just bring this track to life as we feel the energy oozing from this toe tapping monster. The rhythm section is kicking in with a cool, sultry snare drum punch that lets the track breathe as a funky, dark, brooding bassline wraps itself around this fantastic rocking blues filled ditty that just delivers, the swagger filled track has a real sassy side to it as we are swept along with the funky groove that just drops on us from a great height, Caitlin’s vocals are just outstanding as they drive this juggernaut track down the line as the slick, clean guitar licks flow effortlessly through this toe tapping, thigh slapping funk laden rock n roll track that instantly gets you up on your feet and feeling the funk flowing through your body as we bop along to this classy, blues filled number that will have you reaching for the repeat button for sure.
