Krissy Mathews and Friends at the Tuesday Night Music Club

Review By Ken Jackson

I have sadly missed some great music at the Tuesday Night Music Club these last few weeks whilst I have been under the weather ,however I am so pleased I managed to get there last night to see Krissy Matthews appear at the club for the third time .

He is here tonight at the Tuesday Night Music Club to promote his latest album “Krissy Matthews and Friends ” which is already at No.3 in the Amazon charts and No.1 in Europe. Joining him tonight on stage were two superb musicians Slawek Semeniuk on Bass and Gerry Reynders on Drums. The audience were treated to two superb sets with a selection of songs from his album “Pizza Man Blues ” and other albums of his that are not yet in my possession, plus a few carefully chosen songs from this new and very special album “Krissy and Friends ” The album comprises 23 songs featuring 80 different artists that Krissy has met and admired during his career.

I am sure there would have been many more added to the list if the logistics of getting these artists into the recording studio had been easier.

I only heard a few songs from it last night and I havent had a chance to play the double album today as yet ,but I am very much looking forward to playing it this evening .

Krissy has been on tour these last few weeks and despite his relentless schedule we were treated to a superb evening of original music along with a couple of skilfully delivered covers too. A well deserved standing ovation from the audience brought the evening to its conclusion . Thanks to Richard Dunning and all behind the scenes for a wonderful evening at the TNMC.
