After months of correspondence between promoter Richard Dunning and the band, Adam Sweet and his Band finally made their debut at the The Tuesday Night Music Club last night and it’s safe to say the wait was well worth it. The audience responded with warmth and enthusiasm, and the band seemed to thrive in the club’s intimate and appreciative atmosphere. Adam Sweet and his band delivered a compelling fusion of brooding blues and rootsie rock, built on soulful vocals, fabulous song writing, and impeccable guitar work. From the very first note, the audience were fully engaged, and the energy only grew as the evening progressed. It was a gratifying to witness the band relax into their performance and clearly enjoy every minute of it as the evening wore on .

Adam is no stranger to the live music scene. A seasoned guitarist and singer-songwriter, he began performing at the age of 15 in the South West of England. Since then, he has evolved through various musical incarnations, solo acoustic artist, session player, and now bandleader showing a unique ability to shift from introspective lyricism to full throttle blues rock. The evening’s two-set performance was packed with standout material from’ Live at Crescent Records ‘(2023), featuring just four tracks but running over 22 minutes and ,available from their web site with an additional 2 track digital download I believe . Each song was a journey in itself.

Check out the band’s videos on YouTube to get a taste. Also featured prominently were songs from their earlier ‘Sink or Swim ‘album (2020), offering a strong contrast and showcasing the depth of Adam’s song writing talents . The band didn’t just stick to originals with two or three well chosen and brilliantly performed covers/tributes that rounded out the sets, adding extra flavour to an already powerful performance. They were rewarded last night with a standing ovation at the end of their performance and following an encore song from the band the audience again rose as one to congratulate the band on an outstanding performance.

The band with Adam Sweet on guitar and vocals, Paddy Blight on bass, Gary Kroll on drums, and Tom Hughes on Hammond organ, have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the tightest live acts on the blues/rock circuit. Winners of the Introducing Stage at the 2023 Great British Rock and Blues Festival, their credentials include standout performances at venues like London’s 100 Club and the Brudenell Social Club, as well as major appearances at UK blues and jazz festivals. They have also shared stages with the likes of Wishbone Ash, the Kris Barras Band, and Elles Bailey.

Their momentum continues to build and in 2025, they were nominated for ‘UK Blues Emerging Act of the Year’ at the UK Blues Awards, a testament to their rising status in the scene. Kudos also to Mike on the desk, who ensured top quality sound throughout the night. All in all, it was a brilliant evening at my favourite club, great music, great energy, and a band you’ll want to see again and again.
