Mikki Zip is a singer / songwriter with roots planted in Syracuse, New York but Nashville, Tennessee became home 3 weeks before turning 14. Mikki began performing as a singer / songwriter in and around Music City, her passion for performing on stage earned her a BFA in Performing Arts, studying both in LA & NYC. after graduating in 2020 Mikki returned to Nashville to continue her journey as a recording artist, Mikki has given us EP Something To Write About in 2024 and today she returns with rootin, tootin foot stomper Sweethearts Of The Dive Bar which I will be reviewing for you today.

Sweethearts Of The Dive Bar – A punchy snare drum groove gets this banger on the move as Mikki lets her soulful, gravelly vocals take this track down the road. The track is a real hoe – down piece that has depth, swagger and bags of energy that really let this gal do her thing as the rhythm section controls the beat as a sweet keys section adds charisma to this epic arrangement. The cool low end delivers a sultry groove that wraps itself around this killer track as the soaring, melodic vocals really get the juices flowing as we feel the passion, determination pulsing through this fantastic country, blues number that tells us Mikki Zip is back and back with a bang with this toe tapping, gal swinging bruiser that just allows us to be drawn into the cool country world as she really gives it her all.
