Since their formation in 1999 by musician and producer Joseph Mount, Metronomy have carved out a legacy as one of the UK’s most influential electronic acts, releasing boundary-pushing music across a two-decade career. Bridging the gap between experimental electronic music and accessible pop, Metronomy continue to be a leading force in visual aesthetics, innovative production techniques, and energetic live shows.

Now, for the first time, the band compile standout tracks from their acclaimed seven studio albums and previously unreleased BBC live recordings from between 2009-2019, across BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, in a special collection. Showcasing everything from the charm of early releases like ‘You Could Easily Have Me’ to the sophisticated pop of ‘The Look’, and the dance-floor magic of ‘Love Letters’, the release captures Metronomy’s magnetic energy and distinctive sound. Reflecting the breadth of Metronomy’s 20-year evolution, the album’s artwork is a visual testament to the band’s journey, crafted using elements of logos and designs from across their catalogue.

About Metronomy:

Thanks to the ingenious, creative and oft-unexpected melodies and songwriting of multi-instrumentalist and producer Joseph Mount, Metronomy are one of this millennium’s most creative acts mixing electronic pop and indie rock. Drawing influences ranging from Devo and David Bowie to N.E.R.D. and Pavement, Mount established Metronomy as an equally catchy and unpredictable act with 2006’s scrappy, lo-fi Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe). The band’s later albums, such as 2011’s Mercury Prize-nominated The English Riviera, were smoother and more sophisticated, but still incorporated unexpected elements that ranged from Motown and blue-eyed soul homages of 2014’s Love Letters to the retro-futurism of 2019’s Metronomy Forever. With the deceptively sunny pop of 2022’s Small World and 2024’s hip-hop tinged collaboration with Pan Amsterdam “Nice Town,” Mount continues to push Metronomy’s creative boundaries well into their third decade.
