When it comes to modern metal flying the flag for Scotland on the global stage, few bands have made the impact of Bleed From Within. The Glasgow metal heavyweights have spent nearly two decades refining a ferocious blend of metalcore, groove metal and melodic aggression, building a reputation for devastating live shows and relentless touring. On this night at the intimate Liquid Room, the band returned to home soil to deliver a performance that felt less like a gig and more like a declaration of dominance.

The atmosphere inside the venue long before the band appeared was electric. Fans packed the floor shoulder to shoulder, anticipation hanging thick in the air. Bleed From Within have built their reputation through sheer graft, touring internationally and sharing stages with some of the biggest names in heavy music. Their catalogue — including acclaimed albums like Fracture and Shrine — has steadily pushed them to the forefront of the modern metal scene, and tonight’s crowd clearly knew every word and every riff.
As the house lights dimmed, a roar erupted across the Liquid Room. The band stormed the stage with purpose, launching straight into a blistering opening track that immediately ignited the room. Frontman Scott Kennedy commanded the stage with unrelenting intensity, his guttural roar slicing through the venue as he prowled the stage like a man possessed. From the very first breakdown, the crowd responded with chaos — bodies colliding in the pit, fists pumping skyward, and a wave of headbanging sweeping across the floor.

The guitar assault from Craig Gowans and Steven Jones was nothing short of colossal. Their tight, razor-edged riffs cut through the mix with precision, switching effortlessly between crushing grooves and soaring melodic passages. The chemistry between the pair was obvious, trading riffs and harmonised leads that elevated the band’s already thunderous sound.
Behind them, Ali Richardson delivered a masterclass in modern metal drumming. His performance was relentless — double-kick barrages, machine-gun snare hits and thunderous fills that drove every song forward with unstoppable momentum. Meanwhile, bassist Davie Provan anchored the chaos with a thick, rumbling low end that added real weight to the band’s sonic attack.

The set was a brutal but carefully balanced journey through the band’s catalogue. Crushing newer material sat comfortably alongside older fan favourites, each track greeted with deafening cheers from the Edinburgh crowd. Songs erupted with massive breakdowns that triggered explosive mosh pits, while melodic choruses gave the audience a chance to roar back the lyrics at full volume.

Kennedy’s stage presence was magnetic throughout the performance. Between songs he spoke to the crowd with genuine appreciation, clearly aware of the importance of playing a hometown Scottish show. That connection with the audience added another layer of energy to an already ferocious set. The band looked genuinely thrilled to be back in front of a Scottish crowd, and that enthusiasm fed directly into their performance.

What makes Bleed From Within so compelling live is their ability to combine raw aggression with razor-sharp musicianship. The riffs are crushing, the rhythms relentless, yet there’s always a sense of control and precision beneath the chaos. Even at their heaviest, every member of the band remains locked together like a well-oiled machine.

As the set barreled toward its finale, the intensity only grew. The crowd inside the Liquid Room had transformed into a swirling sea of movement, the pit expanding with every crushing breakdown. When the final song exploded into life, the entire venue seemed to erupt — a fitting end to a performance that had barely allowed the audience a moment to catch their breath.

By the time the final notes rang out and the band took their bows, it was clear that Bleed From Within had delivered something special. In a venue the size of the Liquid Room, the band’s immense sound felt almost overwhelming, yet the intimacy of the space only amplified the connection between the band and their fans.

For a band that has spent years climbing the ranks of the global metal scene, this performance was a powerful reminder of where it all started – packed rooms, passionate fans, and the unrelenting energy of a band determined to dominate every stage they step onto.

If this show proved anything, it’s that Bleed From Within are not just Scotland’s metal torchbearers — they’re one of the most formidable live bands in modern heavy music.
