Fireheart – Fuelled by Riffs and Resolve

Single – I Don’t Need A Best Friend

Release Date – 8th October 25

Fireheart bring together a seasoned line-up of Kev Baker (ex-The Hot One Two), Bret Barnes (ex-Kira Mac), Russ Grimmett (Sons of Liberty), Chris Hopton (ex-Gypsy Pistoleros, Tigertailz, Life of a Hero) and Neil Hackett (ex-Whiskey Syndicate, Iconic Eye). Between them they’ve played in some of the UK’s most hard-working rock acts, and with Fireheart they’ve found a fresh spark. It’s a band built on experience, drive, and a shared passion for keeping rock music alive. That passion comes through loud and clear in their new single, which shows exactly what this line-up is capable of.

Fireheart release their fourth single, “I Don’t Need A Best Friend” (out October 8th). Lyrically it looks at the imbalance of giving more than you get in a relationship or friendship, and the realisation that sometimes you’re better off walking away. Frontman Russ Grimmett describes it as painful but also freeing, and that mix of raw honesty runs right through the song. Musically, Fireheart deliver a track that’s bold, anthemic and instantly relatable, the kind of release that shows exactly why the band are gaining attention. Kev Baker, guitarist, and co-founder says “We want to bring people together through music, storytelling, and raw, unfiltered honesty. Rock music has always been about emotion, and we’re here to reignite that fire.”

Fireheart’s latest release proves once again that they know exactly how to channel the spirit of classic rock while keeping things fresh for today. From the moment the first chord strikes, you’re pulled into a track that carries all the hallmarks of timeless rock music, driving guitars, a steady beat that doesn’t let up, and a chorus built for singing along to.

What makes this song stand out is how effortless it feels. The riff is sharp and memorable, the rhythm section keeps everything tight, and the vocal delivery adds emotion.

What gives the track extra weight is the thought behind it. Beneath the big riffs and steady rhythm, there’s a clear sense of honesty in the words. It’s about finding your feet when things aren’t equal, about not letting yourself be dragged down by one-sided relationships or empty promises. The lyrics strike a chord because they’re rooted in something real, and that lifts the song beyond just being a good tune into something listeners can connect with.

With this single, Fireheart continue to carve out their place as a band worth watching.
