Caryn Dixon is a rising singer / songwriter from Central Pennsylvania who brings fierce honesty with a firecracker sound to match. Caryn began writing songs and singing in church aged 7. Today she is a genre – defying singer / songwriter with honest lyrics who is also a fierce advocate for woman, especially those impacted by domestic violence & emotional manipulation, when she is not singing or writing music Caryn can be found in the kitchen where she hosts her own cooking show on YouTube called Chef-ishwhere she shares her cooking tips and culinary experiences. Late 2023 sees Caryn release her debut single Print Your Name & Sign and followed that with Here I Am, today Caryn brings us her latest release Bird In A Cage from her EP due for release on the 12th September so please join me as I take us through this new offering.

Bird In A Cage – A cool smouldering vocal breaks free as the cool bass kicks let the rhythm section take this punchy country style track off down the road. A dark, brooding bassline joins us as it brings cool funk tones that really let the track breathe, the fiddle tones add depth and bring a real hoe down feel to the track as Caryn lets her soulful vocals take the track skyward as they really let the track bring it’s own identity. The cool country style groove really catches our attention as we feel like grabbing our partner and waltzing them around the dancefloor as the track just makes you feel good, the whole arrangement brings sweet, mellow guitar tones that just compliment the composition as the cool, sweet lyrics let the track open up and let us feel the authenticity that Caryn brings to the music.
