The Devil’s Forfeit Session Single Review: The Devil’s Forfeit

Review By Darren McIntyre

The Devil’s Firefit are a 4-piece rock band from Edinburgh, Galashiels, Scotland, who formed in late 2023. The band draws its influences from anywhere between Creedence to Zeppelin and beyond. The band are releasing their debut album Outer Lines at a showcase in Edinburgh @ The Banshee Labyrinth on the 1st Nov. To whet our appetites for this event, the band are dropping a new single, Session, which I will be reviewing for you today.

Session – A rasping, gritty guitar riff kicks in the doors and lets this monster come at us as Angela unleashes her powerfulSession – Apowerful vocals that just elevate this foot-stomping rock n roller. The rhythm section is hitting us with a real solid snare drum punch as the cymbal snaps allow the groove to flow freely as a funking, dark, delicious bassline hits us with cool tones that wrap themselves around this fist-pumping bruiser. The riffs are awesome as the tempo changes pace as we get a rousing vocal onslaught from Angela as the track gathers momentum. The slick, clean guitar licks grab our attention as the cool backing vocals allow the track the room it needs to grow. The whole arrangement is a raw, edgy, groove-laden number that will certainly whet our appetites for the incoming album, which drops on the 24th of October. If you get a chance, go see this exciting rock ‘n’ roll 4-piece, as you won’t be disappointed.
