Single – Undead RedNeck Rock N’ Roll
Release Date – 9th October 2026
Review by Linda McDermott
If you’ve not heard of FangSlinger yet, you will soon, because they are a band making themselves heard on the grassroots rock scene. Bringing together dark Western, gothic Americana and hard rock, they’ve created a sound that feels a little different. Their debut album, Welcome to the Lost Souls Saloon, takes us into a world of outlaw characters, groove-driven riffs, three-part harmonies, and cinematic storytelling.
That Western influence doesn’t stop with the music. On stage, FangSlinger, BloodRose and HangMan each bring their own character to the band’s desert graveyard setting, all under the banner of ‘All Souls Welcome’. They’re already building a following, and if you like your rock with a darker edge, there are plenty of familiar influences in there, from Black Stone Cherry and Guns N’ Roses to Dorothy and Ozzy Osbourne.
Undead Redneck Rock N’ Roll, is the first single from their forthcoming second album and gives everyone a clear indication of exciting things to come from the band. The track is a brilliant high-energy song that’s impossible to ignore when you hear it. The intro sets the scene before FangSlinger unveils the story with his gutsy vocals, backed up by great harmonies. The unmistakable Western feel that runs through the bands sound is there from start to finish, along side those powerful guitar riffs and an infectious beat that makes it difficult not to get caught up in it.
The chorus is simple, and catchy and once you’ve heard it, I reckon you’ll be singing it for days. Midway through the track, FangSlinger takes on a different role, delivering a monologue of half spoken/sung lyrics that instantly has me picturing him standing beside a covered wagon in the wild west, calling out to the lost souls, and enticing them into his world.
There’s something about this track that makes it stick with you. It’s a song that gets into your head without you even realising it, and you’ll find yourself humming that chorus again and again. It has the energy, the swagger, and the attitude to grab your attention, and it’s bloody hard not to get caught up in it all. That’s a powerful thing for a band to be able to do.
Having seen Undead Redneck Rock N’ Roll performed live and joined in as loudly as I possibly could, before dogs came running towards me, I already know how well this song works with a crowd. It’s the perfect song to close a set and leave everyone on a high and wanting more.
If this is a sign of things to come from the second album, you’re going to want to look out for it, and I for one can’t wait for its release. Meantime go and listen to the first
album and join the lost souls, who are already discovering there’s a whole lot to enjoy in the world of FangSlinger.
For a band that’s not even been together for a year, the momentum is already building, and that’s down to the hard work and determination of the whole band. With their growing reputation for blending storytelling, atmosphere, and raw rock energy, there’s plenty more to come from FangSlinger.
FangSlinger are having a single release party where the band will be showcasing the song at Bannermans, Edinburgh, 11th October 2026 so get yourself along and join the lost souls for a great night out.
