REVIEW
I bought The Bites latest album on day one of its initial release and thought it was excellent stuff, but I’d been told that this was a band that really excelled in the live arena. When I heard they were supporting The Dead Daisies on their latest tour I made certain I was inside the venue and stage front for their set, with this turning out to be a most excellent decision.
The band have some big songs in their repertoire and they hit the ground running with opening number ‘Knockin’ On The Door’.

It immediately became clear that this outfit are as tight as a drum and that with lead singer Jordan Tyler they have a front man of the highest quality. This guy never stops and he spends the entire set running, jumping and never standing still for one second. He had a constant grin on his face and it’s clear he is having the time of his life. The rest of the band are no slouches either and it’s obvious they are a highly tuned wrecking ball of a band. The Manchester crowd was on board right from the off, with Tyler having them eating out of his hand through epic renditions of ‘Pretty Boys’ and ‘Dirty City’.

Soon enough we are into the cover version of the Sabbath classic ‘War Pigs’ and the whole auditorium is singing along to this rendition. ‘Heather Leather’ sees Tyler working the audience like a seasoned pro and the energy levels remain sky high for ‘Squeeze’. We are in the home straight now and their performance of ‘Fire In Hollywood’ is a highlight of the entire evening for me.
Crowd favorite ‘Do Me A Favor’ finishes off this set and the band leave the stage to a fantastic ovation. In conclusion this was a great start to the evening and I’ll be making sure I’m first in the queue for tickets the next time these guys are headlining in the UK. What a band, what a performance.
