Thomas Peter Meighan aka Tom Meighan is a singer / musician from Blaby, England who is best known as former lead singer with Kasabian whom he fronted from 1997-2020. He recorded 6 studio albums before parting ways citing personal issues, he decided to go solo and brought us his first solo album The Reckoning in 2023 and will follow that with his soon to be new offering Roadrunner due to drop early 2025, to celebrate the impending release Tom is out on tour and tonight he rolls into Glasgow to take the roof off of the world famous Barrowlands. The Place is packed to the rafters with gig goers young and old as they patiently await the arrival of this larger than life frontman, Star Wars intro music bellows from the house PA as the countdown commences before the coiled spring that is Tom Meighan pounces onto the hallowed stage to a heroes welcome as he hollers out Hello Glasgow as the crowd shreiks, screams and welcomes this idol with open arms, we roll straight into the colossal –

Underdog – A grungy riffed triple guitar assault flows from the stage as Tom and his band kick off this incredible gig as we bop along and feel the energy oozing from this fantastic frontman as he takes us through our paces. The rhythm section is providing the groove as a punchy snare drum beat fills the air as the crowd sing back word for word the whole track as we just lose our shit as this track kicks off what I can only describe as my gig of the year, the place is clapping along as Tom readies us for the mid section groove that is getting us all hot and bothered as we gear up for a foot stomping beat that is letting the cymbal crashes rain down on us as we feel the energy coming from not only every person in the crowd but his bandmates as we just get ready for the next instalment –

Headcase – Synth tones kick in the door as a pounding rhythm beat brings bass kicks and pounding snare drum beats as Tom gets his groove on with a cool rapper type vocal assault that is just awesome. The boys are roaming around the stage and looking at all the smiling, happy faces in the crowd as the temperature rises to 100oC as we get into the nights festivities,the tempo changes pace as the synth tones fill the air as this grungy rocking beat wraps itself around us as we get down and dirty with this energetic frontman as he whips us all up into a frenzy. The place has been waiting for this show for a long time and as I stand and watch the crowd I can tell that this is just what the doctor ordered tonight as we roll into –

Don’t Give In – Acoustic strumming chords pour from the stage as Tom brings his mellow, soulful vocals to the fine folk of Glasgow as the crowd joins in the fun as we get into this fantastic night of rocking tunes and whitty banter. Tom is lookingnout and seeing all the familiar faces as they rock out with this cool dude as he enjoys the success that he deserves, the place is hollering and whooping away as the band just laps up all the praise that is being heaped upon them as we just enjoy ourselves in this phenomenal night of throwback tunes and new offerings that are coming our way tonight, we stroll into –

III Ray(The King) – This is a real stop start groover that gets us moving and a grooving as we get down and dirty with this hyperactive frontman as he gets the place up an it’s feet as we feel the love. We have a real gutsy full on bassline that is dropping epic tones all through this fist pumping rocker track as we just feel the funk coming at us as the rhythm section pounds away and brings a full on bass kick that gives us a solid snare drum beat that just brings the place to life. The energy in the room is just insane as everyone is bopping around and really getting their groove on as we listen to this fantastic frontman doing his thing, the tempo changes as we get a slick, cool guitar lick that just elevates this soaring track to another level as we stroll into –

Better Life – A nice melodic strumming acoustic tone falls from the stage as Tom brings a real softness to the gig with a real soulful tone that just ripples through the world famous Barras tonight. The place is just rocking with a punchy beat that has everyone swaying and feeling the love from this charismatic frontman as he really connects with the crowd as he is smiling, waving, tipping a qoff to people that he is recognising in the crowd, the full on bassline is hitting us with a cool funk laden beat as they flow effortlessly through the show as Tom just brings depth, swagger and plenty of attitude to Glasgow tonight, we are rocking and rolling in the aisles as we stroll into –

Where Did All The Love Go – A foot stomping acoustic guitar flows from the stage as the crowd sing back the lyrics as Tom bounces forward and brings Glasgow to life with this colossal track. The place is oozing with a real fuzzy haze as Tom and the boys drive the gig onwards as we get mellow, cool vocals that are flowing effortlessly through the crowd as we just watch in awe of this awesome performer, the bassline is just ripping through the track with a sleazy feeling tone that welcomes a pounding bass drum kick that just gets the crowd all pumped up and ready for more. The whole night is a real fresh, groove laden night that just sees everyone enjoying themselves as we party like it’s 1999, we stroll into the classic –

High On You – A foot stomping guitar riff wanders into the venue as Tom and the band just kick into gear with this gritty number that allows Tom to wander around the stage and connect with the crowd as we let this thumping beast loose. The rhythm section is hitting us with a solid snare drum beat that works well with the guitar licks that are flowing freely through the venue as we hit boiling point with this thundering rock n roll track that is allowing the band to bring their A-Game right now, the place is just hitting full tilt as they are partying hard and getting all funky and fresh as the gig just unfolds and really brings a coolness to Glasgow tonight as we roll into –

White Lies – Tom chats to the crowd and asks us if we are enjoying themselves tonight as he tells us that hopefully we will enjoy Christmas as we kick in the doors with this funky beast that just brings it. The soulful melodic vocals are pouring from the stage as this punchy rocker just lights up the room with it’s infectious tone that has us all bouncing around and really feeling the buzz, we have a slick guitar riff that is strewn across three slick guitar licks that just light up the venue with their electric groove that just gives us a real tempo. The bassline is hitting us hard as we get a sludgy, dark, delicious beat that just wraps itself around this stunning gig as it just bubbles under the surface as we kick in the doors and come up against –

Empire – Tom dons his red glasses as he shuffles around the stage and lets the track unfold with a crunching guitar riff that welcomes the rhythm section as it pounds away giving us a solid snare drum beat. The place is bouncing as this killer groove grabs a hold of us and really lets us have it as we rock n roll all over the shop tonight, the backing vocals are bringing the crowd into play as they groove along with Tom & the gang as they hit the gears and really deliver a fast, furious, groover track that gets those feet moving for sure. The electricity is just sizzling as we are being pushed to the limit with this ball of energy that is just bopping all over this giant stage tonight, the place is really feeling the buzz being brought by Tom and the gang as we stroll into –

Would You Mind – This is a real special track that just brings the place to a standstill as Tom wanders to the front of the stage and brings us chilling vocals that really hit home right now. The rhythm section is bringing up the groove with a solid snare drum punch that is wrapped in sweet keys that just elevate the groove on this real thought provoking number that has us all standing motionless as the band just deliver a haunting rendition that is just beautiful. The soaring melodic vocals are simply stunning as they wrap themselves around us and really show off the softer, vulnerable side of this wild man of rock as he really sheds the tears in this real emotion filled number as we roll into –

We Can Do It – A slick crunching guitar lick rolls through the venue as Tom brings his soaring vocals to this real grooving track as the band comes in with a punchy snare drum beat that is surrounded by a real fuzzy guitar riff that the boys make their own. The full on bassline is dropping epic funk grooves all through the track as the place is brimming under the surface as we ready ourselves to go mental as we jump around and really get into the spirit of tonight’s show, the keys come at us as they drop a mellow tone all through the mid section as the track changes tempo for a split second as the grungy grooving guitar riffs let this monster come for us, up next –

Shoot The Runner – Tom is prowling back and forward on the stage as this absolute banger erupts and lets us feel the groove pouring from the stage tonight as Tom’s growling vocals flow through the intro and really give the track some depth. The rhythm section is hitting us with a real one two with snare drum / bass kicks that really let this track express itself as the thundering bassline kicks in and really lets us have it with both barrels, the crowd are clapping wildly as this foot stomping door kicker really brings the swagger to Glasgow tonight as the triple guitar licks wrap themselves around this fist pumping bad boy as we run riot through this awesome setlist tonight, coming at us next is –

Exorcist – Shredding guitar riffs kick this bad boy off as Tom brings his rasping vocals to this foot stomping monster as the cool backing vocals run effortlessly through this awesome track. The full on bassline is dropping killer funk grooves all through the track as the place is just losing it’s mind as this crackin track delivers a thumping beat that lets the rhythm section command the room from the back of the hall as pounding bass kicks leave thair mark. The killer guitar licks are raining down on us as this well crafted rocker track lays itself bare for the fine folk of Glasgow tonight, the awesome bass is just driving this monster track onwards as we watch the crowd singing at the top of their voices as this entertaining frontman does his thing, we are rapidly powering through the setlist as we rock into –

Shout It Out – Cool acoustic guitar licks are oozing from the stage as Tom brings his soulful vocals to us as this dark, brooding track leaves it’s mark as we feel the emotion coming at us right now. The mellow, brooding track has us standing motionless as they melodic number tells it’s own story as the place feels the love coming from this colourful artist as he gets us to sing along to this rather mellow number and boy do we duly oblige, we stroll onto –

L.S.F.(Lost Souls Forever) – This punchy foot stomper comes at us with a real funky groove that lets Tom bellow out in his own way as the slick, gritty guitar riffs leave their mark as this killer track unfolds. We get a chorus of thousands as the crowd sings back to Tom & band as this punchy rocker track brings a full on bassline that is dropping sweet, meaty grooves that are just popping wildly as this killer track builds and builds as the soulful guitar riffs get us moving and a grooving with ease as we feel the swagger wrap itself around us tionight, the place is in full swing as we just lose our shit and party like there is no tomorrow. I will say that Tom is having a really good time as he catches people in the crowd he knows and gives and gets thumbs up from his adoring public, we reach the final track of the night and it’s a banger for sure as we settle into –

Club Foot – Tom dons his trademark red glasses as the band tune up and ready us for this absolute bager that erupts from the off as we get spoken almost funky vocals that let this monster reveal itself. The crowd are singing back the chorus as the rhythm section hits us with a thundering snare / bass kick combo that just gives this track some swagger, the place is bubbling under the surface as we await the crunching guitar riffs that let this colossal number  come for us as we dance and sing our way into the cold Glasgow night and just let ourselves be satisfied that this show will live with us for some time to come as the place stands and claps with joy. Cool guitar licks are filling the air as this rousing beast rears it’s head and just kicks ass, we await the return of the band as we stroll into the epic –

Movin On – The crowd are clapping heavily as this growling beast comes at us with a real vengeful beat that gets us all hot and bothered as the pounding bass kick leaves it’s mark. Tom lets his soaring vocals do their thing as we jump up and down like lunatics as we rock out to this killer track that just puts a smile on your face, we feel the thundering bassline wrap itself around us as the killer grooves let this track open and flow as we get a growling guitar riff that really pops. The whole arrangement is just erupting all over the Barras as the place feels the love oozing from this charismatic frontman as he leads us into the final gut busting track of the night –

Fire – The track begins with a full on bass kick that lets Tom rip out this bursting monster as he bellows out the chorus as the place readies itself to lose our shit and then some. The boys are on Fire with cool guitar riffs and a pounding bassline that really allows this track to kick in the doors and really leave Glasgow in no doubt that we have just had Tom Meighan roll through this hallowed building as this groover just kicks in the doors and lets the crowd lead a chorus of shouts that really made this gig a standout and then some, we get a punchy bass kick that lets the band gring their A-Game to the final track of the night as Tom tells us to lose our shit as we leave tonight with smiles on our faces and a head full of rocking tunes that were just on the money.
