Review by Phil M.
What started out as Wes composing riffs for his YouTube Channel has now become a full-blown band, with the addition in 2023 of his long-time friend Josh on drums followed by Dan on rhythm guitar and Stevie on bass.
The EP kicks off with ‘Goddesses’ with a mondo-style guitar riff before the drums and bass kick in. nice touch that the bass doesn’t routinely follow the root. The riff is solid, crunchy and damn heavy. There’s a touch of eastern influence to some of the guitar licks, think Blackmore’s ‘Gates of Babylon’. The chorus is anthemic and has nice harmonies over the lead vocal line. Heading into the frantic lead break the beat is doubled up, and there’s some excellent twin guitar work.

‘Resuscitate’ has a chunky thunderous feel, the riff sounding like a machine gun at full throttle, and the verse is set well to an off the beat riff. There are long sustained chords and dual guitar backing the harmony vocals in the chorus and the lead break shows off some top-quality shredding skills.
‘Un-Shackle Me’ opens with a slow and ominous chorused bass riff in true Sabbath style, soon joined by twin distorted guitars. Things speed up going into the verse, thought there’s some nice riffing and guitar work ahead of the vocals coming in. Once more the chorus is harmonic and memorable. The lead break is well considered with a good mix of styles, and we’re seen out by that chorused bass.
The band cite their influences as Metallica, Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold, but there’s enough here to make them stand out from the crowd, this is well worth a listen, and for a debut EP these guys are showing a lot of promise. Check it out.
