Single – Hole in My Soul

Release Date – 19th September 25

Review by Linda McDermott

Cambridge rock band For The Forsaken aren’t messing about with their latest move. On 19th September they’re dropping their seventh single Hole In My Soul, and just to keep things spicy, the track also happens to be the title of their debut album, landing the very same day.

For The Forsaken

Dan Hunsdon – Vocals/Bass

Jack Hunsdon – Guitar/Vocals

Stu Isteed – Guitar

Chev (Adam Cheverton) – Drum

The band was put together in Cambridgeshire by frontman and bassist Dan Hunsdon, who clearly isn’t shy of pouring a bit of himself into the music. He describes Hole In My Soul as a track born out of years of feeling like something was missing, only finding a sense of completion after finding recovery. Heavy stuff, but when it’s wrapped up in a riff-driven package influenced by the likes of Black Stone Cherry and Alter Bridge, it hits even harder.

For The Forsaken aren’t just about studio polish either. They’ve been carving out a name on the live scene with their big, raw sound and high-energy shows, bagging support slots with Loz Campbell and The Hot One Two. Not bad company to be keeping, and it’s only fuelling their growing fanbase.

So, what about the single? The guitars come in raw and full of feeling, cranking up the drama before Dan’s distinctive voice tears through with a dose of pure angst that demands you sit up and listen. The words hit just as hard as the music, pulling you into his story while the riffs keep your head nodding without you even realising. Emotional? Absolutely. Powerful? Without question. Riffs? Plenty of them. It’s anthemic, unapologetic, and a perfect snapshot of what For The Forsaken are all about.

With the single and album landing together on 19th September, Hole In My Soul sets the tone for everything For The Forsaken are about, loud, emotional, and packed with energy. It’s the banner under which their debut album proudly flies. If this is how they’re kicking things off, the album will hit just as hard.

To celebrate the release of the album & single, For The Forsaken will be performing a headline show at The Six Six Bar in Cambridge on Friday, September 19th, 2025.
