Day Two: Friday, 7th November
Review and Photographs by Linda McDermott
Friday dawns bright over Great Yarmouth, and with the Awards Night and Day One done and dusted (reviews for both are separate), it’s time for another full day of live music, laughter, and late-night madness at Hard Rock Hell. Spirits are high, hangovers are easing – well, for some – and the crowds gather once again inside Vauxhall Holiday Park. There’s a real buzz in the air as people stand in small groups, exchanging stories of the night before and discussing the bands on offer today.
Dead Reynolds
Day Two kicks off in style with Dead Reynolds, who waste no time packing the room for their high-powered opening set. With the crowd right behind them from the off, they charge through their rock tunes bursting with drive and intensity.

Songs like ‘Parasite’, ‘Animal’, and their latest single, ‘Hesitate’, hit the spot and sound fantastic live, each delivered with tight musicianship and genuine passion. They wrap up with an unexpected wee twist, leading the crowd in a rousing singalong to the chorus of “Hey Jude”. A brilliant opening act and definitely a band to keep an eye on.

The Soul Revival
The Soul Revival keep the pace rolling with their heavy rock sound that fills the room with warmth and grit. There’s a real swagger to their performance, and the chemistry between band and crowd is instant. I love Show Me The Right Way, as it turns into a full-on singalong, with smiles on stage and off.

It’s easy to see why they’re building such a loyal following; every time I see them, they’ve grown tighter, more confident, and more captivating. They’ve got that timeless heavy sound that they deliver with a modern punch and heart. The audience feeds off their enthusiasm, and by the end of the set, it’s obvious they’ve earned themselves yet more fans.

Crimes of Passion
Next up, Crimes of Passion open the main stage with a bang. The five-piece have a great crowd who are more than ready to dive into another round of upbeat, melodic rock. There’s no shortage of stage presence here; they look and sound every bit the

part. With a new addition to the band who slots in seamlessly, they power through their set with flair.
Backseat Juliet
The energy doesn’t drop for a second as Backseat Juliet takes over. Full of enthusiasm and cheeky charm, they bound around the stage like they’ve been waiting all week for this. Their songs are packed with singalong choruses and feel-good riffs. Sweet Nothin’ is dedicated to all the designated drivers who get their mates home in one piece after a night on the lash. By the final chorus, the room is singing along, and it’s impossible not to smile. That’s how a band makes an impression.

Coyote Mad Seeds
The tunes turn heavier as Coyote Mad Seeds storm on and kick off their set with Jaded Son, which they belt out with conviction. Their sound is bold, dark, and full of grit, exactly the kind of music that gets the headbangers in their battle jackets at the front moving.

With pounding drums, thick riffs, and roaring vocals, they keep the heavy metal contingent more than happy. They’re a proper no-nonsense rock band who know how to deliver a solid live set, and they leave the stage to loud applause and plenty of cheers.
Silk Spinster
Next, Silk Spinster hit the stage, dressed to kill (pun intended) and clearly out to make a statement. Playing tracks from their self-titled EP released in August, they showcase a mix of influences ranging from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Slipknot, yet somehow, they make it all sound distinctly their own.

Their set is packed with headbanging moments, punchy riffs, and a few surprises, including a brilliantly tongue-in-cheek rendition of Livin’ La Vida Loca that catches everyone off guard but makes them join in. They are loud, chaotic, and great fun, just exactly what a festival needs.

Molly Karloff
Molly Karloff deserves credit for stepping in at the last minute after another band had to pull out, but if anyone could fill the slot and keep the momentum up, it’s these guys.

The three-piece deliver a raw, grungy rock set full of grit and swagger. Simon’s vocals have that perfect distinctive edge, and the guitar work drives the songs with a real sense of purpose. They tear through fan favourites, with the crowd lapping up every second. There’s no dip in pace, no fillers, just pure, high-powered rock done right. They keep the crowd hooked from start to finish and absolutely nail it.

For the Forsaken
It’s now time for For the Forsaken to take over, bringing a dose of angst and emotion through their grunge-inspired sound. Dressed head to toe in white, frontman Dan stands out immediately in the sea of black. Their performance has real feeling behind it, with songs written from personal experience, and you can feel that honesty in every note. They balance aggression and vulnerability beautifully, and it’s clear

why they’ve built such a strong reputation on the live circuit. Raw, heartfelt, and powerful, a great set from a band who always give it their all.

Venus Mountains
Italian rockers Venus Mountains take to the stage next, faces marked with green war paint and guitars at the ready. They launch into a fiery set full of heavy riffs and old-school attitude. Their sound channels classic rock and metal in equal measure, and their enthusiasm is contagious.

Every song feels like a rallying cry, and the crowd responds in kind, with heads nodding and hands in the air. It’s an intense set that leaves everyone fired up and wanting more.
Typan
Bristol’s Typan keep things rolling with a polished set of classic rock songs that show off their musicianship and confidence. There’s a real groove in their sound, tight rhythms, and melodic solos that catch the ear. The band clearly enjoy being on stage and play with genuine joy, which spreads quickly through the crowd. They deliver their music with heart and skill, and that’s exactly what you want.

Graywolf
When Graywolf steps up, it’s to a packed hall and a big cheer. After winning Best International Young Blood at the Awards Night earlier, it’s clear their Wednesday set earned them new fans, and they’re back to show exactly why.

When the five-piece burst into A Whole Lotta Love, it gets a massive response before they tear into their own single Scream, a thumping tune that gets everyone joining in on the chorus. They’ve recently been in the studio, with more music on the way, and judging by tonight’s performance, it’s going to be something worth shouting about.

A New Tomorrow
Making their first appearance at HRH, A New Tomorrow step up and make an instant impression. The heavy rockers deliver a tight, confident set drawn from both their EPs, showcasing their knack for big hooks and strong melodies.

The vocals hit the spot, the riffs are punchy, and the whole band look genuinely thrilled to be part of the festival. The crowd respond warmly by singing along, and it’s safe to say they’ve gained a lot of new fans tonight. For a debut HRH performance, they absolutely got their message across.

Mike Tramp’s White Lion
Closing out Day Two is none other than Mike Tramp, bringing a touch of rock royalty to the stage. Things don’t start smoothly, with an amp giving up near the end of the first song, but the delay is short-lived, and when the lights come back on and the band returns, the cheer that greets them says it all.

From that point on, it’s pure magic. Tramp’s voice still carries the warmth and grit fans have loved for decades, and the crowd are right there with him, singing along to every word. It’s a set full of nostalgia, heart, and connection, ending the night on a high that perfectly sums up the HRH spirit.

With so much talent packed into one day, Day Two of Hard Rock Hell proves just as strong as the first. From the punchy openers to the veteran headliner, it’s been a day of discovery, celebration, and pure rock joy. How Day Three can possibly top this, I don’t know, but there’s only one way to find out…
