Static-X’s debut Wisconsin Death Trip is one of the most recognisable industrial metal albums of the late ’90s, and this new 25th Anniversary Corrosive Edition brings it back with more detail, power and extras than ever before. The remaster keeps the attitude and punch of the original, but the cleaner production gives each track more space and clarity while staying true to its heavy, mechanical sound.

The album’s big hits still shine the brightest. Push It, now celebrating Gold status and edging toward Platinum, sounds tighter and fuller with its updated mix. I’m With Stupid and Bled For Days also get a noticeable boost, making the riffs sharper and the electronic elements clearer. Songs like Love Dump, I Am, Stem, and Otsegolation benefit from the new polish, while heavier tracks such as Fix, Sweat of the Bud, and the title track Wisconsin Death Trip hit with even more drive.

This edition stretches the experience to 22 tracks, with a second disc full of demos, unedited versions, alternate takes, and rare cuts. Early versions of Love Dump and the unedited mixes of I Am, December, and Wisconsin Death Trip give fans a real look inside the band’s creative process. The inclusion of Head Titan AE and the radio edit of I’m With Stupid help round out the package.

The band reunited with original producer Ulrich Wild, who handled the remaster, and photographer Exum, who provided never-before-seen photos that have been used to redesign the artwork. The result is a box set that feels like a genuine celebration, complete with handmade vinyl, reimagined visuals, and optional bonus items such as signed prints, a laser-engraved ID tag, stickers, and even an ID bracelet with a QR code linking to behind-the-scenes footage.

For long-time listeners, this edition is a respectful refresh of a classic. For new fans—many of whom continue to discover the album through games, films, and the newly remastered Push It video—it’s the best-sounding introduction to Static-X’s “Evil Disco” world.

With the band still touring strong and preparing for major festival and headline shows in 2025, this anniversary release proves that Wisconsin Death Trip hasn’t aged out of relevance. Instead, it stands as a key part of metal history, now presented in its most complete form yet.
