Eileen Carey – This Is Where – Single Review – ellamay

Review By Darren McIntyre

Eileen Carey is an award-winning country-pop singer-songwriter based in Altadena, California, known for her infectious optimism & genre-blending sound. Eileen has become a standout figure in the independent music scene, earning accolades such as the New Music Awards AC/Hot Breakthrough Artist of 2025. A dynamic live performer, Carey has shared the stage with legends such as Don McLean, Rita Coolidge, Jefferson Starship & The Motels, captivating audiences with her Gretchen Wilson-Miranda Lambert stage presence. Eileen brings us her new single, This Is Where, which is a song about two people who outgrew each other. Please sit back as I take us through this really thought-provoking new track.

This Is Where – A nice melodic synth tone lingers through the intro as Eileen lets her soulful, melodic vocals lead the charge in this toe-tapping new arrangement. The rhythm section brings a fast, groove-laden tone that allows the guitar licks to wander through the intro and lets the music take over our thought train. The sweet melodies really grab our attention as the band works together well, as the tone grabs us and lets it take us on the journey with Eileen as she lets her killer vocals take the track down the road. The tempo is a well-presented tone that fits the arrangement perfectly, as this pop-tinged track just lets our imagination run free as we let the lyrics take us on the journey, as the music really packs a punch in this sweet, melodic number.
