Single – For You
Release Date – 1st October 2026
Review by Linda McDermott
I’ve seen The Hot One Two live a few times now, so I already know the energy they bring when they hit the stage. I was also lucky enough to be at a private listening session for Virtues, and the album has become one of my favourites since its release. So, with For You now being released as a single, I’m more than happy to give you my tuppence worth.
For You appears on Virtues, The Hot One Two’s latest album, which was released towards the end of 2025. The band followed this up with a two-leg UK tour, taking the songs out on the road and playing venues up and down the country.
They are:
Simon West – Vocals
Nick Manners – Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals
Nick Blackburn – Bass & Backing Vocals
Joe Chivers – Drums
There’s a real message behind For You, with the song being a big thank you to the fans, friends and supporters who have been part of The Hot One Two’s journey. It’s about Simon, Manners, Joe, and Nick’s love of getting out on the road, playing the music they enjoy and meeting people along the way.
The song also gives its name to the band’s upcoming For You Tour, which kicks off in October 2026. This time around, the fans are being put right at the centre of the shows, with the chance to vote for the songs they want to hear in the setlist. Their names will also be printed on the official tour merchandise, making this tour a bit special.
For You will be released as a music and lyric video on 1st of October, giving fans plenty of time to get familiar with the words before the band heads out on the road this autumn. But enough of the background, let’s get to the bit that really matters. What about the song?
It kicks in right from the start with a great catchy beat that invites you to get involved. Whether you’re a foot tapper, head nodder, dancer or shoulder shrugger, this song has you covered. Simon’s voice leads you into a brilliant chorus that I’ve already heard being sung right back at the band, as loud as you like.
Then there are the riffs, full of intent and without question they are delivered, with Manners giving you a full-throttle experience. The riffs are backed up by Nick keeping the bass nice and low and Joe keeping a great pace on drums bringing it all together. The song ukeeps that momentum going all the way through, never really giving you a chance to be still.
It finishes with the phrase, “Did you enjoy the show?” to which there really is only one answer. It’s a brilliant tribute to the loyal fans and the perfect song to finish their set. Well, if that’s what you want them to do, because remember, you decide the setlist!
Make sure you follow the bands socials for full details on how to get involved with those setlists and hear what you want to hear on this groundbreaking, interactive tour experience!
