New Single – Satisfaction
Release date 28th August 2025
Review by Linda McDermott
Moskito are a five-piece rock band from Boston in Lincolnshire who don’t quite realise just how good they are. Having been around for a few years now, with a couple of albums, an EP, and some singles under their belts, they’re back with new material that surely deserves to get them the recognition they’re due.
Jake Rudd – Lead Vocalist
Will Rudd – Bass Guitar
Joe Desmond – Guitar
Sam Beck – Guitar
Drew Moore – Drums
Their style is unique and, in my humble opinion, it sets them apart. Seeing them live is something you don’t forget in a hurry, especially with their fans, affectionately known as the Divvys in full force, singing along. Each of their songs has its own identity, which makes the setlist feel like a proper treat and unpredictable which is what the divvy’s enjoy.
Their last single STFU has become an anthem at their shows, ramping up the dance groove and throwing in a healthy dose of swearing too, and let’s face it, that always feels a bit more fun when you’ve got permission to shout it back in a song.
Their latest release carries that same dance spirit. It’s another song destined to slot straight into their ever-growing singalong repertoire.
As the band put it, “It’s just one of them riffs ya need to sample really. We chucked a load of vocals on it and stuck the MOZZY spin on with more riffs and half time drops.”
That sums them up perfectly, each member brings something different to the table, thanks to a wide mix of influences. From Marilyn Manson, Biffy Clyro and Arctic Monkeys, to Avenged Sevenfold, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, The Prodigy, Frank Carter, and AC/DC, it’s no wonder their sound is such a great melting pot.
This new single twists and turns, it grabs you by the scruff of the neck, and makes you want to belt out “Lah La La, Lah Lah La, Lah Lah Lah Lah La……….” at the top of your lungs, (but that might just be my lyrics!)
It’s intense, heavy, and a proper assault on the ears, but in the best possible way. The hook is irresistible, the beat is contagious, and moving along to it is unavoidable.
On the lyrics, the band say: “It’s about ignoring all them red flags. We’ve all been in those ‘orrible relationships where there’s no satisfaction, it’s toxic but ya still got the urge to go back that one last time.”
Personally, I love this band. They’re inventive, fearless, and their music makes me feel alive, and really, what more could you want from a rock band?
Go check out Moskito, listen, open your mind, and embrace something that is different, your playlist will be all the better for it. Maybe you’ll be like me and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Moskito.
