Review By Darren McIntyre
Rivetskull are a heavy metal powerhouse band from Seattle, Washington who originally formed in 2009. The boys share a connection to the memory of Ronnie James Dio and are now forging their own path while honouring their roots. The boys gave us Trail Of Souls ; Samsara and followed that with Absense Of Time and today they deliver to us a killer new single The Hammer Falls which I will be reviewing for you today.
The Hammer Falls – Kicking in the doors from the off comes a gritty, dark shredding power riffed guitar lick that combines well with the thundering rhythm section that throws out a pounding snare / bass kick that really lets this track soar, the foot stomping bassline is hitting us with a real funk laden groove that just wraps itself around this growling bruiser track that is just ticking all the boxes. The soaring, raspy vocals are just setting this track on fire with their edgy, soulful tone that just works so well in this melodic rockin beast, a slick, clean solo erupts mid section as we get a sizzling tone that really gives this track a raw edgy groove that has plenty of swagger and juice in the tank. The whole arrangement is a full on balls to the wall riff laden monster that has killer riffs with a thundering beat that is held together with a real gritty vocal attack that just allows this track to flow effortlessly through and let us feel the energy pulsing through the veins of every musician.
