Review By Darren McIntyre
Rossen),Defecto are a metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark who originally formed in 2011, the band are known for their combination of technical precision, melodic strength & emotional intensity. The band have become one of the most respected names in tme modern Danish metal scene, the boys have given us 2 EP’s, 3 Albums and have several acclaimed festival appearances ( Copenhell, RockFest Finland) , support slots with Metallica & Rammstein. Defecto has consistantly pushed the envelope of progressive & cinematic metal. The boys brought us their new album Echoes Of Isolation and from that they give us the blistering new single Heart On Fire (Ft Stig Rossen) which I will be reviewing for you today.
Heart On Fire – The track erupts with an ear-shattering guitar riff that welcomes a pounding bass kick that explodes into a full-on rhythm groove with a solid snare drum punch that really lets the track express itself. We have melodic synth tones littered throughout the arrangement, and they just allow the track to bring us a cool, melodic feeling that just lets the tempo build and build. The soaring, effortless vocals kick in the door and let themselves lead the track as the boys shift through the gears and let the track bring us a fist-pumping, foot-stomping beat as the track slows for a little as Stig lets us feel the full force of his colossal vocals. The boys are letting the track come at us with all it has as the full-on bassline drops in with a real dark, delicious tone and texture that lets this roaring beast leave its mark as the layers of melodic metal grab our attention and let the boys go about their business and leave no stone unturned.
