Self-Released | Out 23rd April Having read the press, I knew I just had to listen to this and review it. Spain’s unruly pirate collective, The Groggy Dogs, return with No Grog, No Glory, and there’s something genuinely different about this record. While many bands flying the folk-punk flag lean heavily into [more…]

Out 27th February via Big Oil Recordings Review By Halina Wegner Copenhagen-via-Berlin artist Debbie Sings is carving out her own corner of what she calls “recession-pop” — a sharp, self-aware brand of pop music that feels both playful and politically conscious, glossy yet slightly fractured. With Oh My, her entirely self-produced new [more…]

By Kirsty Middlemist With Songs for the Weary, his second album, Matthew Whitaker delivers a collection of songs that feel tailor-made for quiet corners and unhurried afternoons. From the very first notes, the record establishes itself as a gentle, soothing listening experience — the sort of album you might expect to hear [more…]

Review By Josh Jones End of Us is a highly anticipated album, being TX2’s debut album after a whole decade of building popularity on social media and releasing only singles, which on their own racked up millions of streams, so it is safe to say I listened to this album with high [more…]

Album Review by GLEN PARKES Release Date: 20th February 2026Label: Silver Lining Music There are albums you anticipate… And then there are albums that arrive. Outerstellar doesn’t politely knock at the door—it kicks it open in a cloud of leather-scented swagger and neon-lit attitude. Michael Monroe has always embodied the pure spirit [more…]

Words and Photos by Dave Martin/Faversham Photography The lighting started flashing and thunder sounds echoed through the PA system as the intro to Thunderstruck hit and Sophie Lloyd entered the stage. Gone was the Top Gun theme used as an intro on Sophie’s previous tour now replaced with her rendition of the [more…]

Review By Glen Parkes Reina del Mar arrives wrapped in salt air and sun-warmed rhythm, a Latin-rock-infused single that carries a distinctly Mexican-Cuban spirit in both its groove and its soul. From the opening moments, the track moves with an easy, rolling sway, as if guided by the tide itself rather than [more…]

By Justin Smulison Over the summer, Australian metal champs Temtris released their eighth studio album of original material, Queen of Crows, to widespread acclaim. Released by WormHoleDeath Records, Queen of Crows contains all the hallmarks of a Temtris release – the electrifying dual-guitar riffs and solos and stellar drumming and tempo changes [more…]

Review by Darren McIntyre | Images by Scott Anderson Cottier’s Theatre once again proved why it’s one of Glasgow’s most cherished live spaces, providing the perfect, hushed intimacy for John R. Miller’s Celtic Connections appearance. Bathed in low light, the room felt less like a concert hall and more like a late-night [more…]

REVIEW BY Glen Parkes I stuck on Did You Have a Good Weekend? expecting a few big riffs and a bit of attitude. What I didn’t expect was to feel personally attacked by a six-track EP—in a way that somehow made me want to turn it up louder. Stud Farm Mafia don’t [more…]
