On a hot and sticky night, the atmosphere at Moat Park in Maidstone, Kent was electric as we gathered for the second Maid of Stone Festival. The anticipation was palpable as Paul Anthony of Planet Rock fame took the stage to introduce the opening band. The crowd, buzzing with excitement, erupted in cheers as the first band, White Raven Down, took their positions.
White Raven Down smashed their first set with high energy and powerful riffs, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Their blend of hard-hitting rock and melodic undertones resonated with the audience, drawing them into the rhythm of the night. The band’s performance was tight and precise, showcasing their impressive musical skills and setting a high bar for the acts to follow.
Next up was the fantastic Blaze Bayley, a true icon in the rock world. From the moment he stepped onto the stage, Blaze’s showmanship lit up the night. As the night progressed, the excitement only grew for the headline act. The legendary Scottish rock band Gun took the stage, and their performance was a sight to behold. Gun delivered a perfect blend of classic hits and new material, keeping the energy levels soaring throughout their set. Their tight musicianship and stage presence were undeniable, drawing the audience into every note and beat. with Classics and new songs alike had the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs, creating a unified wave of sound and energy that flowed through Moat Park.
