A bitterly cold evening outside the Tuesday Night Music ,made worth it by the thought of seeing two excellent solo musicians on stage at the club tonight. As the doors opened we quickly took our seats front and centre enjoying the warmth within. After a brief address from our host ,Richard Dunning explaining the ethos of the club we were introduced to Sunjay ,who described himself as a singer ,songwriter Guitarist from Stourbridge in the West Midlands and who is currently on tour . What he didn’t mention was the fact that he is a skilled orator and very witty which became very evident as he told the stories behind each song . He is extremely confident in his performance and has great stage presence.

Sunjay plays the Guitar beautifully which when coupled with his fabulous voice and excellent song writing ensured a very entertaining first set . Before that first set was over though, Sunjay invited Greg Brice to join him on stage to help him end his excellent set .

After a fifteen minute interval Greg Brice was introduced to the stage . Greg is from the Cotswolds and has been nominated for both best acoustic artist and emerging act of the year in 2024. I imagine it takes quite a lot of confidence in both your talent and material to follow a musician as accomplished as Sunjay , however Greg Brice has that confidence and ability in spades and commenced to enthral us with a second packed set, which included many of his original songs interwoven with some great story telling. Greg has in fact been to the club before ,opening for the Achievers in October 2023.

During his all too short set we were treated to some excellent Blues infused , self penned songs alongside a few well established covers. As Gregs set neared its conclusion Greg invited Sunjay back to the stage to complete the evenings music offering as a duo . I enjoyed Greg Brice in 2023 and I thoroughly enjoyed his music tonight and I hope to see both Greg and Sunjay back at the club in 2025 .

Sunjays latest album is called ‘I’m just like you ‘ and Gregs is a self titled debut album ‘Greg Brice’ Greg is also planning on releasing some of his new music as singles . He is also promoting Alix Almond and her fabulous lino cuts by featuring one of her prints as the cover of his new single entitled ‘Weeping Willow ‘ All their music is available from their respective websites. Their performance complete Greg and Sunjay were awarded a standing ovation for their efforts . My thanks to Richard Dunning for hosting and promoting this unique club ,Ros and Martin Davey ensuring both artistes sounded their best and everybody else at the club that had a hand in providing an excellent evening .
