Brooks Mason aka Eddie 9V is a Georgia born, Atlanta based singer / guitarist / songwriter who has been gathering pace with his take on Southern Soul / Blues / Rock / Funk music. Eddie picked up a guitar aged 6  and the rest they say is history, Eddie wanted to bend the genres and bring us a new take on the classic groove that we have all come to know and love. Eddie has given us Left My Soul In Memphis in 2019, Little Black Flies in 2021, Capricorn in 2022 and on the 22nd November Eddie dropped his colossal new offering Saratoga upon us, to celebrate the release Eddie is hitting the road to melt some faces, kick some ass and give us a night that we won’t forget. Tonight Eddie stops of in Auld Reekie @ The Caves which is a phenomenal setting for the maiden voyage of this exciting blues infused rock n roll star, the place is buzzing and the house PA is rolling out the intro music as Eddie & the boys stroll onto the hallowed stage, they thank us for coming out and launch into –

Beg,Borrow, Steal – A pounding snare drum groove opens the track as we get sweet, cool Hammond style keys that give the track some depth as we feel the energy pour from this charismatic rocker. He brings his soulful vocals to really elevate this foot stomping beast as the boys just lean in and bring the soul to Edinburgh tonight, the funky feeling rocker track is building and it really showcases this incredible talent as he steps up. cuts loose and delivers a slick, clean guitar solo that is just putting a smile on everyone’s face tonight as we holler and cheer as Eddie and the boys take the plaudits before we move onto –

Travelin Man – A sultry dark brooding bassline drops in as a sweet piano lingers in the background to let this mellow groover kick in the doors and let us feel the electricity pouring from the stage. The cool blues style vocals are just elevating this epic arrangement to another level as we tap our feet and feel the swagger hitting us head on, the crisp, guitar licks are just insane as Eddie drops the hammer and really slays the groove. The piano tones are creating a real buzz as this fantastic track breaks free and lets the rhythm section come at us with cool bass kicks that welcome the cymbal snaps to just give this track real body, we are being taken on the journey with Eddie & the boys as they strut their stuff and give us a real dose of southern blues at it’s finest. The place is bubbling under the surface as Eddie chats with us and thanks us for coming out on this dark, damp night to watch him and the boys do their thing, up next –

Hey Low – A cool swanky guitar lick oozes from the stage as Eddie & the boys bring the groove to this finger clicking, toe tapping beast that just erupts with a real sludgy rhythm section that lets the track breathe. We get a funking blues style bassline that is wrapping itself around this soul searching arrangement that lets Eddie bring his soaring mellow vocals that fit this track perfectly, the boys are bringing the heat right now as we settle into the slick, wholesome groove that is being laid down before us tonight. The funky, deep, cool beat is filling every corner of this impressive venue as we just lose ourselves in the punchy groove that is all up in our grill right now. The keys are making themselves known to us as Chad drops the beat that just gets us all swaying along to this colossal piece of music, we stroll into –

Missouri – Slick riffs offer themselves up from the off as Eddie lets his soulful vocals take the track onwards as we really dig this dude and his boys as they are just kicking it right now. The rhythm section is commanding the room with solid snare drum punches that let the groove flourish as the boys deliver a real soul searching blues explosion that ticks all the boxes for sure, the place is really feeling the groove as the track wraps itself around us and really elevates this killer beat as the soaring Hammond style keys present themselves and really give this track a cool tone that is wrapped in the epic vocals that this young man is bringing to us right now, we stop for a second and really appreciate this incredible talent that is plying his trade right now, we roll into –

Lo-Fi Love – A real toe tapping blues style groove wanders freely through the intro as this epic track opens before us as the cool keys ripple through the track as we get into this fantastic musician. The cool rhythm section is coming at us with a cool cymbal snap that lets the snare drum beats kick on as we feel the energy oozing from the boys, a massive funking bassline is handing us a real dar, delicious groove that instantly puts us in the mood to get down and really groove with this guy. The tempo changes pace for a bit as we feel the awesome guitar licks rain down on us as this sludgy blues eruption builds and builds as we rock out with this young scallywag and his buch of cool musicians as we just watch the stage and feel the swagger and energy hitting us right now, up next –

Meet Me In The Morning – A crisp cool guitar groove flows towards us as the mellow bassline wraps itself around us as we really grab this guy and let him bring the blues to Edinburgh tonight. The tone is a real delicious beat that just elevates this fantastic musician as he puts his stamp on this killer cover by Bob Dylan that just has the place all movin and shakin. The keys are dropping epic tones that just let the track breathe as they build and build as the punchy rhythm section kicks in with cymbal crashes and full on snare drum kicks that just give this track real oomph. People have missed out coming to see this guy let me tell you as he is on fire , hurtling towards us next –

The Come Up – Eddie chats to us and tells us that he is throwing some love out to the comedian Theo Vaughn who played this track on his podcast that really shone the light on Eddie 9V. The cool funky grooves are really grabbing a hold of us as this toe tapping beat grabs us and really lets us shake free with this epic groove that is oozing from the stage tonight, the punchy rhythm section is hitting us witha real deep snare drum kick that brings cymbal snaps and cool bass kicks that really grab your attention. The full on funking bassline is hitting us with dark, delicious grooves that really give this track a fresh, funky toe tapping feel as the epic keys come in and really get the groove flowing as Eddie hits us with slick, funky riffs that just get the juices flowing, we are flying through the setlist as Eddie chats to us and tells us of his humble upbringing and getting his first van to enable him to do what he does and this brings a ripple of applause from us as we stroll into –

Delta  – The boys tune up and launch into the groove as a cool guitar lick wanders through the intro as Eddie and the boys drop the hammer and really bring the funk to us tonight. The full on bassline drops epic funk tones that just give this track a sludgy swagger that is on the money for sure as the cymbal crashes rain down on us as we feel the blues eruption hit us right now, the toe tapping funk a licious groove is incredible as Eddie brings his awesome vocals that just give this track some feeling as he steps forward and gives us short sharp bursts of his electrifying guitar skills that are on fire tonight. The boys are really settling into their groove as we feel the funk wrap itself around us as we stroll into the awesome –

Miss James – A sweet funky blues groove opens the track as we get a punchy bass kick that works well with the deep oozing bassline that is hitting us right now as we get all down and dirty. The soaring vocals are really taking this track to somewhere new as we lose ourselves in the epic tones that are filling this fine venue tonight, the keys are incredible as they provide the backbone for this soaring blues eruption. The track changes tempo as the boys drop the hammer and bring us a real fast, furious groove that lets the rhythm section deliver a cool snare drum tap that gets the track all mellow and funky. The guitar work is sensational as Eddie shreds away in a world of his own as this fantastic piece builds and builds till it takes the roof off of this fine building right now, the place erupts in a hail of clapping and whooping as we take ourselves onto –

Red River – The rhythm section is hitting us with a real deep, cool punchy snare drum kick that lets the tone build as Eddie lets his killer vocals do their thing as we feel the depth of this fantastic musician. The keys are rippling through the track as we get a funky toe tapping feeling that just carries us along for the ride with the guitar maestro and his band of merry misfits, the bassline is handing us a real groove laden tone that is giving this track a deep groove that is driving the beat onwards. The boys are really giving all they have tonight and it is a shame for anyone that missed this electrifying musician as he leads us into the killer track –

My Baby – This is a real blues explosion as Eddie drops epic guitar licks that just light up this fantastic venue as we groove along with this exciting band as they bring the heat to Edinburgh tonight. We get a bass kick that brings snare drum taps to really give this track a sludgy blues feel that is just incredible, keys are flowing freely through the track as we get a cool funking beat that just takes us to another place and really feel the energy pouring from this electrifying piece of music. Eddie is hurtling through the setlist and has really brought the love tonight as we stroll into –

Little Black Flies – Slick, cool keys are oozing from the intro as we get a funky beat that lets the rhythm section deliver a deep snare drum groove that just takes this track somewhere new. The soaring vocals are just awesome as they fit this foot stomping groove laden beast as the tempo changes direction and really hits us with all it has tonight, the Hammond style keys are really elevating the track as they really bring out the blues effect on this sizzling piece of music. The slick guitar work is outstanding as it really showcases this insane talent and just what people have missed tonight, next up –

Saratoga – We get the title track from the album right now and it brings a solid snare drum beat that lets the groove unfold right now as Eddie lets his vocals do the talking. We are feeling the blues ripple through the venue as a sweet meaty keys section delivers a funky groove that fits this arrangement perfectly as the boys come in with a sultry rhythm beat that just elevates this soul searching beast that really tells it’s own story as the boys bring the depth, swagger and groove to this mesmerising track that is a real nice way to spend an evening with this awesome musician as he makes it look so effortless. The bass kicks are hitting us as the keys leave their mark on this fantastic composition as Eddie drops killer licks that are wrapping themselves around this beast of a track, we are coming to the end of a real scintilating night of blues, country, funk and soul music that has been a real tonic, up next –

3AM In Chicago  – Edddie comes in with a real dark, sludgy guitar shred that lets this monster bring it tonight as the cool rhythm section brings the soul with epic snare drum punches that really let this track fly. The killer keys are dropping incredible tones that are rippling all through this fantastic track as the boys really dig deep and give us a punchy, full on beat that allows Eddie to slip into shredding mode as he drops the hammer and gets all slick and deep with a colossal solo that just ticks all the boxes as we groove along with this young maestro as he really captures the essence, last track of the night comes in the form of –

Yella Alligator – The boys take their positions as we get a real punchy funk beat that brings a sludgy guitar riff that really sets the tone for this set ending track that is just awesome. The cool keys are brimming as they deliver a funky tone that lets Eddie come at us with his cool vocals that deliver a nice dark tone that works well with this foot stamping classy arrangement, the funking bassline is coming at us with a real dark, delicious funk beat that just grabs your attention as the boys really hit us with all they have right here right now. I can tell you that those who missed tonight will be kicking themselves as they really lucked out with this sizzling musician as he just brought it.
