Coming Up Roses – Over Your Head – Single Review – redsandpr

Review By Darren McIntyre

Coming Up Roses are an alternative rock quartet from London who are inspired by the sounds of post-punk and shoegaze, the band have 3 EP’s under their belts and now take that a step further. The band are about to release their debut album How Did We Fall So Far and bring us their infectious new single Over Your Head which I will be reviewing for you today.

Over Your Head – We get a crisp, clean guitar lick that allows the track to unfold and bring this melodic number to our attention as the sweet snare drum taps let the rhythm section make itself known to us. Emily lets her soulful vocals lead the way as we get a cool funking bassline that wraps itself around this toe tapping, melodic groover as we allow ourselves to be sucked into the beat that is flowing effortlessly through this sludgy, almost punk- esque number as the band really ups the tempo in this killer arrangement that just grabs your attention as the whole composition pops with crisp notes that will have you reaching for the repeat button for sure.
